摘要： An object to be achieved by the invention is to provide a biodegradable low-charging fiber. The prevent inventors have found that when a specific amount of a specific phospholipid that is not known to have antistatic properties is added to a biodegradable polymer, and the resulting mixture is formed into a fiber having a smooth surface, low-charging properties are developed. The invention has thus been accomplished. The invention is a fiber having an average surface porosity of less than 3% and made of a biodegradable polymer that contains a specific amount of a specific phospholipid.

When a normal copying process is selected, the copying process is stopped immediately if the first monitor determines that the non-paper-medium supplier is attached and an error message indicating that a printing process cannot be performed since the non-paper-medium supplier is attached is shown on the main body. In addition, if a facsimile is received while the non-paper-medium supplier is attached to the main body, the user is informed that the facsimile call is received. Accordingly, the user can change the setting of the image-forming apparatus so that the facsimile can be received. Thus, the facsimile is received manually if the non-paper-medium supplier is attached to the main body and is received by operation after the line is acquired by a handset telephone.

摘要： An image processing apparatus comprises a read unit for reading a data file stored in a storage medium which is removably loaded into an apparatus body, a determining unit for determining a file type of the data file read out of the storage medium, and a processing control unit for executing predetermined processing corresponding to the determined file type. When a data file to be processed is selected from the storage medium, a file type of the selected data file is determined and the predetermined processing corresponding to the determined file type is executed. Just by selecting the data file stored in the storage medium or the file type, the data file is automatically processed in the operation mode or the print mode corresponding to the file type. Operability in processing data files is improved.

摘要： An ice thickness/drifting velocity observation of sea ice by using an ice thickness measurement sonar and a current meter moored into the sea and a sea ice observation by a high-resolution airborne SAR are synchronously performed, a correlation between a draft profile of sea ice passing over the sonar and an SAR backscattering coefficient profile is calculated, and an ice draft of desired sea ice is calculated from the relational expression and an SAR backscattering coefficient. As the SAR backscattering coefficient, a backscattering coefficient of L-band HV polarization may be used. A backscattering coefficient of X-band VV polarization is preferably used as the SAR backscattering coefficient to detect thin ice having a thickness of not more than approximately 10 cm.

摘要： An image reading device includes a memory unit for storing positional information of a sensor for moving by a drive unit to read an image of a document and a control unit for controlling the drive unit to move the sensor based on the positional information stored in the memory unit. The control unit drives the drive unit by an amount of driving sufficient for an image reading unit to move in a predetermined direction to abut the stop members, controls the drive unit to move the sensor so as to detect the position mark, and updates the positional information of the memory unit to a predetermined initial value based on the detection of the position mark by the sensor. The image reading device can store data of a reference position promptly even if a photo-interrupter is not provided when the data of the reference position is not stored in a memory unit.
