    • A connector socket has a plug insertion opening that is as small as possible to prevent insertion of fingers or other object. The mating plug travels on a hinged arcuate path into the plug insertion opening. The plug insertion opening is displaced from a centerline of its contacts to provide clearance permitting the mating plug to enter, while maintaining a minimum opening size. A front surface of the connector socket surrounding the plug insertion opening is a grounded conductive plate. Thus, even if one succeeds in forcing a finger or other charged object through the plug insertion opening, static charges are discharges to the conductive plate, and therefore do not pose a threat of electrical damage to components accessible within the plug insertion opening.

    • A pulse generator is provided with a photoconductor in which first to third transmission lines composed of conductive film are formed on a semi-insulating substrate and the transmission lines are separated by first and second narrow gaps, and provides short pulses from short electrical pulses generated on these transmission lines in accordance with short optical pulses irradiated upon each narrow gap. Semiconductor lasers effect the irradiation of short optical pulses upon the first and second narrow gaps. A delay is conferred upon short optical pulses irradiated upon one of the first and second narrow gaps such that pulse height of short electrical pulses generated on the first to third transmission lines is maximized.

    • A process for producing a photographic light-sensitive material comprising providing a first light-sensitive photographic emulsion layer on one side of a support having a surface resistivity greater than 10.sup.14 .OMEGA. and a thickness of not more than 230.mu. and providing a light-sensitive photographic emulsion layer or a gelatin-containing back layer on the opposite side of the support wherein between the time the first emulsion layer is coated and the time the opposite surface of the support is coated, (i) the opposite surface of the support is prevented from coming into contact with anything except rolls having a diameter larger than about 50 mm, and (ii) the water/gelatin weight ratio in the photographic emulsion layer(s) coated on the first surface of the support prior to coating the second surface is not less than 1.
