    • An antenna disposed in a windowpane of a motor vehicle having an electrically conductive motor vehicle body having a direct current heating source. Disposed on the windowpane of the car is at least one heating field having at least one bus bar disposed on one side of the heating field. Connected to the bus bar at a connection point is a feeding network for feeding heating current into the bus bar. The feeding network is installed adjacent to the windowpane and comprises at least one magnetic core. Mounted on the at least one magnetic core is a primary winding which has a sufficient number of turns to transfer the high frequency, high impedance connection of the heating field. In addition, there is also a field compensation winding mounted on the at least one magnetic core, and is connected to a compensating current source so that this connection has no substantial effect in reducing inductive high resistence of this feed network and thus the high frequency reception of the antenna.

    • This invention refers to a diversity antenna system for use in a motor vehicle with at least two diversity antennas as well as a window-mounted heater structure consisting of lateral conductors (bus bars) supplying the heater current and heater sections in between. The configuration is such that each diversity antenna has lateral bus bars (4a, 4d; 4b, 4c) and heater sections (2a, 2b) between them as well as a pair of terminals connected to a feeder network (8a, 8b) of the diversity antenna. Each pair of terminals has a ground connection point (14a, 14b) and a tap point on a bus bar (5a, 5b). The tap points on the bus bars (5a, 5b) of the diversity antennas are located such that they are essentially isolated from each other with respect to radio frequencies. The power leads to the bus bars are provided with RF traps (6a through 6d). This serves to optimize the mean signal quality yielded by each individual antenna and to minimize the coincidence of interference in the signals coming from the antennas.

    • A multiband radio antenna arrangement for use in two way radio communication for (UHF) and (SHF) frequencies. The antenna arrangement contains at least one emitter antenna mounted on the outside of the motor vehicle adjacent to an upper edge of the vehicle's windshield near its roof. Supporting the emitter antenna is a base plate secured adjacent to the roof of the vehicle, the baseplate being electrically conductive and serving as the electrical ground plane for the emitter antenna. A thin antenna line feeds into the antenna and extends from a connection point on the baseplate to the upper edge of the windshield where it is bent and then extended on the inside surface of the windshield through an adhesive bead of the window and into the interior of the vehicle. In addition, connected to the baseplate is a patch antenna connected to the antenna line, the patch antenna for receiving an additional radio communication service. The emitter antenna connects to the antenna line on the baseplate at an emitter connection point. The patch antenna connects to the antenna line on the baseplate at a patch antenna connection point. The combination of the emitter antenna, the antenna line, and a patch antenna are linked to a base plate, to form a combination antenna for multiple band radio communications.

The device for shielding is a two-dimensional component (4) arranged on the window pane (2) and made of a conductive material substantially optically transparent but substantially opaque to the electromagnetic waves radiated by the exterior radio antenna (1) and a capacitive connection (11,12,13) for the electromagnetic waves in the radio broadcast frequency range between the two-dimensional component (4) and the metallic body (3). The two-dimensional component (4) has a sufficiently low surface resistance in the radio broadcast frequency range and the capacitive connection (11,12,13) has a sufficiently low impedance so that electric and magnetic fields radiated by the exterior radio antenna (1) are effectively prevented from penetrating into the interior of the motor vehicle.
