Also, for providing a database display method capable of displaying information contained in a database in a state suitable to display characteristics of the data, data in the database is two-dimensionally displayed in a two-dimensional display area, and all or a portion of the two-dimensionally displayed data is three-dimensionally displayed in a three-dimensional display area. A projection view of the three-dimensional display is also displayed in a projection view display area. The user can manipulate any of the displays in the respective display areas, and the manipulation is reflected to the remaining displays.

    • An LAN system provided with a host system connected to an LAN through a plurality of LAN adapters, and a plurality of terminal systems for communicating with the host system through the LAN. A plurality of logical addresses for the host system are set correspondingly to physical addresses of the LAN adapters. One of the logical addresses is selected arbitrarily as a key (common) logical address. When the host system is to send a message to one of the terminal systems, the host system sets the key logical address of the host system as a source logical address included in the message, selects one of the LAN adapters and sends the message to the LAN through the selected LAN adapter. When one of the terminal systems is to send a message to the host system, the terminal system sets the key logical address of the host system as a destination logical address included in the message, sets the physical address of the LAN adapter corresponding to the key logical address as a destination physical address included in the message and sends the message to the LAN.

    • An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit that photoelectrically converts an object image to generate image data; a face detecting unit that detects a face in the generated image data; and a number-of-people detecting unit that detects the number of faces detected in the image data based on a face detection result by the face detecting unit. The imaging apparatus also includes a feature determining unit that determines a feature of the detected face based on a face detection result by the face detecting unit; a face selecting unit that selects a face that satisfies a predetermined correction condition set in advance among the detected faces based on at least one of a detection result of the number of people and a determination result of the feature; and a face-image processing unit that performs a predetermined correction process on at least the selected face.
