摘要： 1,3-disulfonylcycloalkanes substituted in the 2-position with at least one hydrogen atom are employed as silver halide complexing agents in both conventional and diffusion transfer photography. Preferred compounds are those possessing an S-containing moiety substituted in the 2-position and particularly those containing 6, 7 or 8 members in the cyclic ring and substituted in the 2-position with R.sup.2 -S-CH.sub.2).sub.m wherein R.sup.2 is a hydrocarbon radical and m is a whole number 0 to 5. The latter thioether-substituted 1,3-disulfonylcycloalkanes comprise the novel compounds of the present invention.

摘要： A method for rendering water-insoluble materials water-soluble is provided. The method is useful for solubilizing substantially water-insoluble bioactive materials such as drugs. This is accomplished by forming a non-covalently bonded complex between the drug and a polyalkylene oxide polymer end capped with an alkyl or olefinic group which is soluble in both water and an organic solvent. This is carried out by combining the desired medicinal agent with the polymer is an organic solvent, removing the solvent and dissolving the complex in water or aqueous buffer. When the organic solvent is evaporated, a solid complex is recovered which is water-soluble. Methods of treatment with the complexes are also provided.

C. but sufficient to liquefy the blend and cause grafting of a polyether on the polycarboxylate.

摘要： In one embodiment, the present invention relates to pyrazolidine derivatives, some of which are novel compounds, all of which are represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 taken individually, the same or different, are each hydrocarbon moieties containing up to about 20 carbon atoms selected from alkyl, aryl, aralkyl and alkaryl, which moieties may be unsubstituted or substituted with a substituent selected from carboalkoxyalkyl, aryl, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroalkyl, aminoalkyl, ketalalkyl and acetalalkyl, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 taken together represent the carbon atoms necessary to complete a cyclic moiety selected from: ##STR2## which cyclic moieties may be unsubstituted or substituted with the above-identified substituents; Y is --OH or --NH.sub.2 ; and X is --OH, --NH.sub.2, --NH.sub.2.Z where Z is a salt, or --NHR where R is alkyl or aryl.In another embodiment, the present invention is directed to the use of the above-denoted class of compounds as photographic silver halide developing agents and to photographic processes, products and compositions employing the same.
