摘要： A vehicle body consists of a plurality of independent body sections, i.e., an engine compartment assembly, floor assembly, a pair of body side assemblies and a roof assembly. The assemblies are prepared and painted independently and have joining portions which are to be lapped one upon another, respectively. The assemblies are joined together by fastening with bolts and nuts the joining portions while at the same time bonding the joining portions with a sealant adhesive which is applied to the joining portions prior to lapping the joining portions one upon another.

摘要： A front floor panel has at a lateral end thereof a first flange for joining with a body side assembly. A floor panel has a second flange for joining with the body side assembly of a modular vehicle body. The first and seond flanges are formed with first and second recesses, respectively. A patch plate is fitted in the first and second recesses to form a smooth continuous joining surface which is joined with the corresponding flange of the body side assembly by interposing therebetween sealant adhesive. The rear floor panel is nearly rectangular and has a continuous upstanding flange extending upwardly from the laterally opposed ends and the rear end thereof for joining with the body side assembly and another body side assembly and a rear end assemby of the modular vehicle body.

摘要： A cap opening system which can handle various containers having caps and container bodies of different sizes is disclosed. In this system, when a cap of a container is to be opened, a container body of the container is gripped by a container body holding apparatus to raise the container body upward. A top surface of the cap is detected as a reference surface when the cap interrupts an optical beam. Based on the height of the reference surface, the cap is positioned with respect to the cap handling apparatus. Alternatively, a cap receiving member is provided underneath the cap handling apparatus to perform positioning of the cap with respect to the cap handling apparatus.

摘要： A roof structure consists of roof rail assembly and a roof assembly. The roof rail assembly is constituted by a pair of roof side rails of body side assemblies and front and rear roof rails interconnecting the roof side rails. The roof rail assembly has a plurality of joining surfaces which are nearly flush with and extend consecutively from each other. The roof assembly includes a roof panel and a joining surface at the periphery of the roof panel. The joining surface of the roof assembly is lapped on the joining surfaces of the roof rail assembly and is fastened to same with bolts and nuts while being bonded to same with a sealant adhesive interposed between the joining surface of the roof assembly and the joining surfaces of the roof rail assembly. Some of the bolts have head portions disposed outside of the roof panel and the roof side rail. A moulding is utilized to cover the head portions of the bolts. A sill cover and a rear fender outer are adapted to be fastened to the roof side rail simultaneously with the fastening of the roof side rail and the roof panel.
