摘要： This disclosure provides a method of determining a pore throat size distribution of reservoir rock, comprising injecting a set of different-sized probe particles through a portion of reservoir rock and measuring retention volumes or times of each of the different-sized probe particles eluting from the portion of reservoir rock. This disclosure also provides a testing apparatus comprising a probe tube for receiving a set of different-sized probe particles in an elution fluid returning from a portion of reservoir rock and an analytical module connected to receive the elution fluid from the probe tube. The module includes a flow cell to receive the elution fluid from the probe tube, a radiation source positioned to direct a radiation beam though a window of the cell into the eluting fluid in the cell, and a sensor for detecting portions of the radiation beam that have interacted with the different-sized probe particles such that retention volumes or times each of the probe particles of one size class can be distinguished from all other size classes of the set.

A method to determine physical properties of a fluid in a geological formation including a shear wave anisotropy in the geological formation and the formation composition using the fluid density and the fluid speed of sound is also provided.

A processor causes an energy to be applied to the sample tube to induce vibration in the sample tube at a resonant frequency of the sample tube containing the fluid. The processor stops the supply of energy to the sample tube. The processor monitors an amplitude of the vibration of the sample tube as the amplitude of the vibrations diminish over a period of time. The processor uses the monitored amplitude to calculate an RF of the sample tube containing the fluid. The processor uses the calculated RF to calculate the viscosity of the fluid.

摘要： Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to select a subset of sensor responses as inputs to each of a plurality of pre-calibrated models in predicting each of a plurality of formation fluid properties. The sensor responses are obtained and pre-processed from a downhole measurement tool. Each of the plurality of predicted formation fluid properties are evaluated by applying constraints in hydrocarbon concentrations, geo-physics, and/or petro-physics. The selection of sensor responses and the associated models from a pre-constructed model base or a candidate pool are adjusted and reprocessed to validate model selection.

The wavelength range can include wavelengths in a range from about 0.2 μm to about 100 μm. Additionally, the sample can include wellbore fluids and the property of the sample is a property of the wellbore fluids.
