    • A plurality of compression schemes are provided that achieve improved compression ratios. A first embodiment provides for compression of each pixel by one of a plurality of different entropy-based compression schemes based upon a probability cost analysis. A second embodiment provides for compression of each pixel based on a hybrid context formed using a plurality of compression schemes for improved probability determination, and thus improved entropy encoding. In embodiments of the invention, a context compression scheme similar to JBIG is applied, as well as an inverse scheme. The context scheme forms a statistical context from a concatenated sequence of previous pixel values. The inverse scheme provides a gray value estimation method based upon previous pixel values and respective threshold values. Statistics are maintained with respect to the actual current pixel value and the difference between an estimated gray value and the current pixel threshold value.

    • A system and method of supplying power to a sonic energy source that minimizes damage to substrate devices during processing while increasing processing efficiency and/or effectiveness. The system and method utilize the concept of ramping the amplitude and/or varying the frequency of the electrical signal used to drive the sonic energy source, thereby resulting in corresponding ramping and/or variations in the amplitude and frequency of the resulting sonic energy being applied to the substrate. A method of processing a substrate with sonic energy comprising: a) supporting at least one substrate in a process chamber; b) generating a base electrical signal; c) transmitting the base electrical signal to an amplifier, the amplifier converting the base electrical signal into an output electrical signal having a peak amplitude; d) transmitting the output electrical signal to a transducer, the transducer converting the output electrical signal into corresponding sonic energy; e) applying the sonic energy to the at least on substrate supported in the process chamber; and f) ramping the peak amplitude of the output electrical signal.

    • The triple action cam die set has an upper die, lower die and a cam system that works on multiple axes. A feeder delivers tubes sequentially to a loading station from where the tube is moved to a work station where the ends of the tube are cut and then the cut tube is moved to an exit station. The upper die has pairs of first, second and third drivers, each driver having a caming surface thereon. The lower die has a pair of cutter holders with cutters located opposite the ends of the tube when located at the work station. The cutter holders have first, second and third cam surfaces thereon which are sequentially engageable by the cam surfaces provide on the first, second and third drivers when the upper die is cycled.
