The method further includes creating turbulence within the spinner cavity, supplying molten organic material to a delivery tube wherein the delivery tube terminates at a point located outside of the spinner cavity, discharging molten organic material from the delivery tube with enough momentum to overcome the turbulence and reach a predetermined location in the spinner cavity, and centrifuging fibers from the molten organic material.

摘要： A termite shield according to the present invention provides a physical barrier between a foundation and a wooden building structure, a detection mechanism for detecting termite presence, and a chemical termiticide in the form of a bait block. The termite shield includes a sill plate barrier which is positioned between a masonry foundation and a sill of a wooden structure. An interior bait block holder is removably attached to the sill plate barrier on an interior side of the foundation, and an exterior bait block holder is removably attached to the sill plate barrier at an exterior side of the foundation. The bait block holders may be provided with a block of wood which is inspected periodically to detect the activity of termites. If termites are detected, the block of wood may be replaced with a bait block of cellulosic material containing termiticide. The termite control device addresses the disadvantages of the prior art at least by combining the benefits of a physical termite barrier with the use of chemical termiticides to control termites.

摘要： A method and apparatus for applying granules to a coated asphalt sheet to form at high production speeds with shingles a variegated pattern having uniform pattern edges. Granules of a first color are applied to spaced first areas on a continuously moving tacky asphaltic strip, such as a hot asphalt coated organic or glass fiber mat. Hot asphalt or another adhesive is applied to at least a portion of one or both of the leading and trailing edges of the first areas to provide predetermined uniform edges to tacky second areas between the spaced first areas. Granules of a second color are then deposited on the second areas. The granule coated strip is then cut into shingles. The method may be used to create multiple pattern areas with two or more different colored granules or granule blends.
