摘要： A head-up display for a vehicle, according to one embodiment of the present invention, may comprise: an image source which emits a linearly-polarized light having a first direction; a prism which refracts one portion of the linearly-polarized light emitted from the image source; an electric polarization conversion element which, when turned off, transmits another portion of the linearly-polarized light emitted from the image source, and when turned on, half-wavelength-converts the another portion of the linearly-polarized light emitted from the image source into a linearly-polarized light having a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; a first reflection mirror which reflects light to a windshield of a vehicle; a polarization reflection mirror which is disposed so as to be spaced apart from the first reflection mirror, reflects the linearly-polarized light having the first direction, and transmits the linearly-polarized light having the second direction; and a second reflection mirror which is disposed so as to be spaced apart from the polarization reflection mirror, and reflects the light transmitted through the polarization reflection mirror to the polarization reflection mirror.

摘要： A method for generating a live VR broadcast of a three-dimensional (3D) virtual reality (VR) performance environment is provided. The 3D VR performance environment includes 3D VR avatars corresponding to performers performing on a performance area of a concert space, with the performers being separated by a predetermined distance selected to prevent transmission of airborne pathogens between the performers while performing. The 3D VR avatars are displayed on a VR performance area representing the performance area. The facial expressions and body movements of the 3D VR avatars are synchronized with audio data of the performers. The 3D VR avatars are displayed within the VR performance area at relative locations that appear separated by less than the predetermined distance. Audience devices provide audience feedback data that is outputted in real time to the performers.

摘要： A liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator comprising an array of light-modulating pixels and a controller are disclosed. Each light-modulating pixel of the array comprises liquid crystal and is associated with a respective flip-flop. The controller receives a hologram of an image comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel comprises a respective n-bit hologram pixel value. The controller drives each light-modulating pixel in accordance with a respective hologram pixel value of the hologram. There is a one-to-n pixel correlation between the hologram and the light-modulating pixels. The flip-flops of each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels are connected in series to form a shift register. During operation of the shift register, the n-bit hologram pixel value associated with each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels is provided to each light-modulating pixel one bit at a time over the course of at least n clock cycles.

The case may include a connector for receiving, from the portable electronic device, a video signal defining the images. The holographic display system may further include a substantially transparent touch screen attached to the first hinge element.
