摘要： A projector system comprising a laser light source, a collimating lens, a fly-eye lens, an integrating rod and a first modulator is disclosed. The light from a laser light source/fiber illuminates a collimator to substantially collimate the light and then is transmitted through a fly's-eye lens. The fly's-eye lens provides a desired angular/spatial light distribution for further processing to a first modulator of the projector system.

摘要： A deformable lens, deformable micro-mirror array, or combination thereof adjusts an image projected onto a screen to modify that image to compensate for small imperfections in the flatness of the surface the video is being projected onto. Initial calibration can be performed to create a screen profile, that is then used to adjust the optics to compensate for the detected screen anomalies. An initial grid projected onto the screen may be used for this purpose, with a high resolution camera imaging the grid and the perpendicularity, straightness and sharpness of the grid lines then being assessed by a processor to calculate the necessary optical modifications to modify the projected image such that the grid lines are straightened and aligned. In another embodiment a scanning laser is used to assess screen flatness and uniformity with pixel level precision.

摘要： A new projector design combines one spatial light modulator that affects only the phase of the illumination, and one spatial light modulator that only affects its amplitude (intensity). The phase-only modulator curves the wavefront of light and acts as a pre-modulator for a conventional amplitude modulator. This approach works with both white light and laser illumination, generating a coarse image representation efficiently, thus enabling, within a single image frame, significantly elevated highlights as well as darker black levels while reducing the overall light source power requirements.

摘要： An imaging apparatus for two-stage light modulation in high-definition digital projection or cinema can include two light modulators. Each light modulator can include a multi-chip imaging system coupled to a total internal reflection prism (TIR) system, which has a light input face and an on-state face. Relay optics can be positioned between the two light modulators. The relay optics can be configured to defocus light received from the pre-modulator and to provide defocused light to the prime modulator using a substantially Gaussian pixel shaping function. The prime modulator can be oriented to receive defocused light from the relay optics at the light input face of its TIR prism system. The pre-modulator can be oriented backwards, so as to receive source light at the on-state face of its TIR prism system and to output pre-modulated light to the relay optics via the light input face of the TIR prism system.
