    • The invention relates to a process for the production of a lead-based capping cap, in which preparation takes place by rolling of an alloyed lead metal strip covered on each of its two faces by an alloyed tin film, characterized in that a multilayer plastics material strip is prepared having an adhesive plastics material surface layer and at least two successive layers of a plastics material from the group of polyolefins, grafted polyolefins and terpolymers; the two strips are joined by applying the adhesive face of the plastics material strip to one of the two faces of the metal strip, thus giving a complex strip, and from said complex strip is cut a blank and the latter is converted into a cap internally coated with plastics material. The invention also relates to the capping caps, or cap overseals, obtained, internally having at least two plastics material layers. These caps are used for over-capping the corks of wine, alcohol or spirit bottles. Their internal coating prevents lead migration into the bottle contents in use and makes it possible to reduce the lead weight of the caps.

    • A tip-off cap and closure for a container, for closure thereof, and sealing of the contents therein. The cap includes a narrow elongated exterior top portion, a peripherally enlarged open bottom skirt at the bottom thereof, and a container closure for an access opening, operatively disposed within the skirt and operatively integrated therewith. The integrated cap and closure are conjointly removable from the container, to open the container for access to the liquid therein, by application of a lateral tilting force against the narrow, elongated cap exterior at a position thereof remote from connection of the cap to the container. Removal of the integrated cap and closure seal means from the container is normally effected without breakage of the material forming the container. The cap and closure act as a unit assembly when being removed. The construction is designed to generally assimilate currently known and used glass ampules for medicaments, in configuration and use, and to have a similar opening procedure thereto.

    • The cover for a breathing apparatus canister has a body portion of substantially the same shape as the top of the canister and is provided with a skirt extending around the upper part of the canister and also with a central opening through which the neck of the canister extends. Extending from the body portion upwardly around the neck is a circular side wall closed at its upper end by a top wall above the sealing ring that encircles the upper end of the neck. The side wall is provided with inwardly projecting detents underlying the sealing ring to hold the cover in place, but the detents are sufficiently yieldable to permit the cover to be applied to the canister and removed.

    • A removable stopper for a screw-neck bottle. The bottle has a radial projection arranged transverse to the thread forming a stop at the lower end of the thread. The stopper has a mating internal thread also having a terminal transverse radial projection at the lower end thereof. A second transverse radial projection spaced from and parallel to the terminating projection is formed on the stopper inner wall. The second projection resides on a weakened portion of the stopper wall to permit it to flex radially and pass over the transverse projection on the bottle neck when either applied to or removed from the bottle.
