The pallet (10) includes a main body (12) defining a load deck (16) and feet (18) and the main body (12) is suitable to be used as a pallet for applications such as light duty, one-way transport of goods. The pallet (10) further includes a bottom accessory (14) that can be attached to the feet (18) of the main body (12) to form beams (44,46) extending between the feet (18) to convert the main body (12) into pallet (10) that is suitable for use in heavy duty applications such as in pallet pools. The main body (12) and bottom accessory (14) are each configured to allow them to be nested, when not attached to each other. The processes of the invention include using the main body (12) to transport goods from manufacturers and then attaching the bottom accessory (14) to the main body (12) to form a pallet (10) for use in a pallet pool.

摘要： A pallet for use in transporting merchandise includes a pallet body having a top surface for supporting merchandise. A foot-driven winch is mounted on the pallet body, and a flexible tie-down for restraining merchandise on the pallet body is connected to the winch. In a preferred method of using the pallet, a plurality of such pallets are disposed inside a vehicle with the pallets defining a surface which substantially spans the width of the floor of the vehicle and on which a delivery person can stand to access merchandise on the pallets. The delivery person can remove merchandise from the pallets while remaining inside the vehicle and then can move the merchandise to outside the vehicle without having to perform any lifting. As a result, sickness of delivery persons due to exposure to the weather during delivery and injuries due to lifting of merchandise can be decreased.

摘要： An expendable pallet comprises a deck or platform having feet anchored to the platform to space the platform from the floor. Each of the feet supporting the deck or platform comprises an engageable cup-like member and an annular locking ring member. The cup-like member is insertable within a suitable hole in the platform to engage a peripheral flange on the upper extremity thereof with the upper platform surface. A circumferential shoulder is provided exteriorly on the cup-like member in spaced relation beneath the flange. The locking ring member comprises a depending skirt that terminates at its lower extremity with an annular shoulder engaging surface and has an outwardly and peripherally extending flange at the upper extremity thereof. The locking ring member is adapted for disposal beneath the platform and exteriorly on the cup-like member to engage upon the shoulder of the cup-like member and sandwich the platform between the opposed flanges of the members.

摘要： A disposable lift sheet formed of paper board having beneath one edge of the platform portion thereof a multiple layer stack of strips which provide a pierceable target area for the forks of the lift truck. The target area strips in the upper portion of the stack are wider than the strips in the lower portion of the stack to provide gradual stepped support for the platform portion and to reinforce the fork entry region of the lift sheet and prevent accidental piercing of the platform portion and the supported load thereon by the forks. In the preferred embodiment the target area strips are integral with the platform portion and are provided by reverse folding edge portions of the base sheet from which the lift sheet is made.
