摘要： The present invention extends to methods for attaching a piece of glass to a piece of stone. In some aspects, specifically designed glass inlays are secured within a void in a piece of stone. The glass inlays can include colored glass letters, numbers, designs, etc. In some aspects, glass inlays and voids are specifically designed to match one another. Glass inlays can be affixed within the voids using an adhesive. Grout can then be used to set the glass inlays in place. The result can be monument or marker that commemorates an event or person.

摘要： A pre-cast terrazzo panel having detailed, multicolor designs therein constituted by background and inlay designs of different colors includes inlay and background colors which are integral with no surface difference between the inlay and the background. The process for preparing the panel involves the steps of (a) providing a pre-cast unpolished terrazzo panel with a first background color; (b) cutting out an inlay pattern or design in the terrazzo panel to create a silhouette cut-out panel; (c) placing the cut-out panel in a mold, pouring a blend of a second color including a binder and aggregate into the cut-out and curing the blend to create a cured inlay of a second color in the panel; (d) repeating steps (b) and (c) as often as desired with blends having colors the same or different from the first and second colors; and (e) polishing the resulting panel to produce a terrazzo panel having a plurality of colors therein with each inlay color being integral with the background color and without the different colors being separated from each other by divider strips.

摘要： A base is provided having a pierceable elastic surface and a penetrable yieldable interior. The surface is provided with pattern areas defined by demarcations, which may be surface cuts. The free end of a yarn strand is pushed into the base at a point on one demarcation, and the yarn is severed at a point spaced from the embedded end to create a cut yarn strand. The other end of the cut strand is then pushed into the base at a point on another demarcation spaced from the first. These steps are repeated with additional strands placed adjacent to each other, to cover the various pattern areas. The surface may bear indicia indicating the color of yarn to be used and the direction in which the strands are to be placed.
