摘要： Methods for forming a composite for use as a vehicle weather strip and the products formed thereby are disclosed in which a main body member is formed from an elastomer polymer and an abrasion resistant decorative layer including a blend of a crosslinkable thermoplastic polyolefin and a thermoplastic vulcanizate is applied thereon. The crosslinkable thermoplastic polyolefin preferably includes a crosslinkable olefin homopolymer. The olefin homopolymer preferably contains grafted silane functional groups to allow the material to be crosslinked in the presence of moisture. The abrasion resistant decorative layer may be extruded or otherwise applied onto the main body either prior to or after the main body member is cured and either prior to or after the crosslinkable polyolefin of the abrasion resistant decorative layer is crosslinked. The material of the abrasion resistant decorative layer may be extruded into sheet form and laminated onto the main body member.

摘要： A process for preparing two connected powder transfer conduits for cleaning without releasing powder from the conduits. The conduits are connected to each other by flexible tube of a water-dissolvable material to enable powder communication between the two conduits. A sealing operation is performed to form a seal in the tube sufficient to prevent the powder communication from one side of the seal to the other. The seal is then severed to produce two tube sections where each tube section is sealed at the point of severance. A cleaning conduit is then place over at least one of the two tube sections and connected to the respective conduit. The cleaning conduit is connected to a liquid cleaning source which is adapted to deliver a cleaning liquid capable of dissolving the tube section thereunder upon contact therewith.

The cushioning devices maintain the internal inflatant pressure for extended periods of time by employing a phenomenon referred to in the industry as diffusion pumping. Ideally, the cushioning devices of the present invention can be permanently inflated with gases such as nitrogen or air.

According to this process, a rubber laminate having a high bonding strength can be obtained by contacting an uncured composition A comprising a fluororubber and a metal oxide with an uncured composition B comprising a nitrile group-containing polymer rubber and a phosphonium salt represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each stand for a hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which may be substituted, with the proviso that up to three of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group or a fluoroalkyl group, and R.sub.5 stands for a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and curing the uncured compositions.

摘要： A method of making an electrically-conductive floor covering presses a polymeric bottom layer into apertures in a top layer having a higher flow viscosity than the bottom layer, the pressure also bonding the layers together. The bottom layer contains from about 3% to about 80% by weight carbon black or graphite for electrical conduction; the top layer contains not more than about 0.5% thereof. The apertures in the top layer are at least 1 mm in diameter and regularly or irregularly spaced from the next adjacent aperture from about 2 mm to about 40 mm, the area of the apertures not exceeding 40% per unit area of the top layer. The dark color of the bottom layer resulting from its carbon black or graphite content therefore need not significantly affect the appearance of the top layer, but provides electrical conductivity through the apertures.
