摘要： The invention relates to an acceleration detector for use as a decelerometer for controlling an electrically operated axle brake, particularly for a towed vehicle.The acceleration detector comprises a movable member which is capable of moving against the action of elastic means permanently urging it towards a stop, and a fixed member comprising a proximity detector adapted to generate a voltage proportional to the distance separating it from the movable member.According to the invention, the stop for the movable member is spaced from the proximity detector by a predetermined distance such that, as soon as the proximity detector is switched on, for example by depressing the brake pedal of the towing vehicle, the output voltage of the detector is other than zero.

摘要： An accelerometer without internal mechanical attachments. Three parallel cylindrical magnets are fixed within a housing. Each cylindrical magnet has a long axis extending through the housing and a cylindrical cross-section. The cylindrical cross-sections of the cylindrical magnets are organized to form a triangular formation. The magnetization of the cylindrical magnets is tangential to the triangular formation. A diamagnetic mass object levitates within the three cylindrical magnets by the magnetization of the cylindrical magnets at an equilibrium position near the center of the triangular formation and near a central axis of the three parallel cylindrical magnets when no external force is applied. Sensors detect the location of the diamagnetic mass object when the diamagnetic mass object is displaced from the equilibrium position near the center of the triangular formation and the three parallel cylindrical magnets by an external force to the housing.

The capacitive sensing based systems use the abrupt changes of the capacitance value to detect whether a real fall event happens, while the reed sensor/or reed switch based systems work in power saving passive mode to detect the real fall event by analyzing the binary “on/off” signal available from the reed sensor/or reed switch. Both rely on the orientation change of the host body respects to local gravity direction during the falling process. The system can present either as a standalone system or a built-in component with supporting software installed on other devices.
