    • An evaporator includes a cool storage material container. The cool storage material container contains a cool storage material and is disposed in a second part of the spaces. The cool storage material container includes a container main body portion joined to the refrigerant flow tubes. The outward projecting portion extends from an upper end of the leeward edge or windward edge of the container main body portion. The outward projecting portion has an expansion portion projecting from the container main body portion and projecting thickness of the expansion portion is greater than a thickness of the container main body portion. The expansion portion is located outward of the fins. At least one of left and right side walls of the expansion portion is so constructed to deform when an internal pressure in the cool storage material container increases beyond a predetermined pressure.

    • One or more embodiments of the present invention relates to a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger comprises a pair of header-tanks having at least one partition wall and at least one baffle; a plurality of tubes; and a plurality of fins. A communication hole is formed on the partition wall that is positioned at a region disposed between the baffle and one end of the header-tank adjacent to the baffle. Given that a distance from the baffle to the one end of the header-tank is 100%, 1˜4 communication holes are formed at positions on the partition wall which corresponds to an extent of 0˜50%, 65˜100%, or an extent of 0˜50% and an extent of 65˜100%.

    • A method of manufacturing a heat exchanger includes forming elongated holes in two connection walls among a plurality of connection walls to be laminated, and forming paired notches on a claw forming portion of the remaining connection wall facing the elongated holes. A longitudinally intermediate portion of the claw forming portion is pressed toward the other end to break the claw forming portion at the longitudinal center and bend the claw forming portion at the notches to thereby form two claws forming pieces and form bent portions at the distal ends of the claws forming pieces. The claws forming pieces are bent at the notches to form claws. Distal end portions of the claws are bent outward to form fold-back portions, which are engaged with the outer surface of the connection wall at the other end, whereby all the connection walls are provisionally fixed together.

    • A heat exchanger used as an evaporator includes a refrigerant inlet header section having a refrigerant inlet at a right end portion, and a plurality of heat exchange tubes connected to the refrigerant inlet header section. The interior of the refrigerant inlet header section is divided by a partition plate into an upper space into which refrigerant flows via the refrigerant inlet and a lower space into which the heat exchange tubes project. A communication opening is formed in the partition plate on the left side of a heat exchange tube at the left end so as to establish communication between the upper and lower spaces. A guide portion is formed at a left edge portion of the communication opening such that the guide portion projects from a lower surface of the partition member into the lower space so as to guide the refrigerant toward the right end side.

    • An air conditioning system for a vehicle includes a heat exchanger, a case clamping an outer part of the exchanger in its thickness direction, and an elastic body disposed at a part of the outer part of the exchanger between the case and the heat exchange on one side of the exchanger. The other side of the exchanger is held directly by the case. The elastic body is compressively deformed by a stress with which the case clamps the exchanger. A region of the outer part of the exchanger includes a planar portion on one of both sides of the exchanger. The case includes a proximity portion at a position of the case opposed to the planar portion in the thickness direction of the exchanger. The proximity portion is located adjacent to the planar portion to limit an air leak.
