摘要： Disclosed is an improved analytical method that can be utilized by hydrogen filling stations for directly and accurately calculating the end-of-fill temperature in a hydrogen tank that, in turn, allows for improvements in the fill quantity while tending to reduce refueling time. The calculations involve calculation of a composite heat capacity value, MC, from a set of thermodynamic parameters drawn from both the tank system receiving the gas and the station supplying the gas. These thermodynamic parameters are utilized in a series of simple analytical equations to define a multi-step process by which target fill times, final temperatures and final pressures can be determined. The parameters can be communicated to the station directly from the vehicle or retrieved from a database accessible by the station. Because the method is based on direct measurements of actual thermodynamic conditions and quantified thermodynamic behavior, significantly improved tank filling results can be achieved.

摘要： A remaining gas amount calculating device includes a hydrogen tank, an opening/closing valve arranged to deliver hydrogen gas from inside the hydrogen tank, a decompression valve arranged to decompress hydrogen gas delivered from the hydrogen tank, a pressure sensor arranged to measure the pressure of hydrogen gas decompressed with the decompression valve, and a power source system controller arranged to determine the remaining gas amount in the hydrogen tank by calculating the gas pressure in the hydrogen tank based on the hydrogen gas pressure measured with the pressure sensor. The relationship between pressures in a primary chamber and a secondary chamber of the decompression valve is monotonical such that when the pressure in the primary chamber increases, the pressure in the secondary chamber also increases; and when the pressure in the primary chamber decreases, the pressure in the secondary chamber also decreases. The remaining gas amount calculating device makes it possible to calculate the amount of gas remaining in a gas container without using a gas pressure measuring device that measures directly the pressure in the gas container.

The metered amount of hydrogen added to the on-board storage tank, the ambient conditions, The pressure measured at the dispenser, and a correlation to account for heat transfer are the inputs to the methods of the present invention. These inputs eliminate the need for obtaining temperature and pressure information from the vehicle which is out of the control of the dispenser and/or energy provider. In addition, the use of the equation of the present invention does not require the fill rate to be limited and the corresponding fill time to be extended.

摘要： A mobile self-contained self-powered station having a plurality of vessels delivers a pressurized fluid to a receiving tank (e.g., a fuel tank of a hydrogen-powered vehicle) without using mechanical compression, external electric power, or other external utilities. The station includes first and second vessels, a conduit in fluid communication with the receiving tank and each of the first and second vessels, means for transferring at least a portion of a quantity of the pressurized fluid from the first vessel to the receiving tank, means for measuring continuously a pressure differential between the increasing pressure in the receiving tank and the decreasing pressure in the first vessel, means for discontinuing the transfer from the first vessel when a predetermined limit value is reached, and means for transferring at least a portion of a quantity of the pressurized fluid from the second vessel to the receiving tank.
