    • A coupling member assembly for a flexible hose, the flexible hose automatically expands longitudinally and laterally upon the application of a fluid pressure. Upon release of the fluid pressure within the hose, the hose will automatically contract to a contracted condition. The hose includes an inner tube made from an elastic material and an outer tube made from a non-elastic material that secured together by the coupling member. The inner tube is positioned concentrically within the outer tube in both a contracted condition and an expanded condition. The outer tube is secured to the inner tube only at a first end of the inner and outer tubes by use of a male coupler member and at a second end of the inner and outer tubes by use of a female coupler member. The outer tube moves laterally and longitudinally with respect to the inner tube when the tubes are transitioning between a contracted condition and an expanded condition.

    • Fitting assemblies are disclosed that include a threaded conduit and a releasable longitudinal restrictor comprising a compressible port securement. The threaded conduit can be configured to engage a complementary threaded portion of a fluid port and include a fluid channel traversing a longitudinal axis of the threaded conduit. The releasable longitudinal restrictor can engage an outer periphery of the threaded conduit and may be configured to advance along the longitudinal axis of the threaded conduit in a first direction towards the port while releasably restricting movement along the threaded conduit in a second direction, opposite the first direction. A leading edge of the compressible port securement may also be configured to engage an engaging surface of the port such that the compressible port securement compresses to permit spring-loaded advancement of the releasable longitudinal restrictor in the first direction and restrict rotational movement of the threaded conduit relative the port.

    • A flex-duct end connector for connecting flex-ducting to fittings includes a cylindrical pipe and a pair of clamps configured to be mounted on the outside of the pipe. The outer surface of the pipe and the inner surfaces of the clamps may be provided with an adhesive to improve the connection. Outer wraps attached to the outside of the pipe include an adhesive side and a non-adhesive side. One end of the pipe may be tapered and the other end may include a rubberized coating. To connect the flex-ducting to the fitting, the insulation and outer jacket of the flex-duct is folded back from the liner. The liner slides over one end of the pipe. Adhesive may be provided on the pipe to provide a more secure fit. The clamps, which may also be provided with adhesive, are applied to the liner and pipe. The edges of the clamps overlap so that a fastener may be inserted through the clamps, the liner and the pipe. The insulation and outer jacket are then pulled over the clamps, and the outer wraps are deployed so that the adhesive side of each is applied to the outer jacket. The other end of the flex-duct end connector is inserted in the fitting. Zip ties or the like may be used at various points of the connecting process.

    • The hose couplings of this invention can be used to connect sections of large bore reinforced hose to make it more resistant to damage that can be caused by axial and bending forces encountered during normal usage. This extends the service life of the hoses of this invention which include such couplings. The present invention more specifically reveals a hose assembly comprising a reinforced hose having at least one reinforcement layer and a coupling on at least one end of the hose, said coupling comprising a tubular body which is adapted for fitting into the end of said large bore hose, said tubular body having a tail end which is adapted to lie inwardly from the end of the hose, said tubular body having an outer end which is adapted to extend beyond an axial end of the hose, the outer surface of said tubular body being provided with a plurality of axially spaced retention beads, and at least one hose carcass anchor which is affixed to the tubular body at a point on or outward from the last retention bead toward the outer end of the tubular body, wherein the hose carcass and/or load bearing extensions of the hose carcass extend through and around the carcass anchor.
