摘要： A clamp system for hot-tapping tubulars includes a saddle having a saddle body with an inner surface, an outer surface, and an opening extending from the inner surface to the outer surface, a metal protrusion extending from the inner surface of the saddle body to provide a metal seal, an elastomer seal coupled to the inner surface of the saddle body adjacent to the metal protrusion, and a nipple integrally formed with the saddle body and extending outwardly from the outer surface of the saddle body, the nipple positioned over the opening of the saddle body, and a clamp having a nipple opening configured to receive the nipple, the clamp formed separately from the saddle. A method includes positioning the saddle on a tubular and assembling the clamp around the saddle and the tubular including inserting the nipple through the nipple opening formed in the clamp.

摘要： A high capacity universal connector for use in connecting tubular members and a method for sealing the tubular members is provided. First and second tubular members are provided which each have ends that are brought into face-to-face engagement by a connector. A metal sealing element seals against conical surfaces at the ends of the first and second tubular members and enables the entire surface of the end of one tubular member to be bought into engagement with the surface of the end of the other tubular member so as to improve the bending and compression capacity of the assembly comprising the tubular members and the metal sealing element. A metal sealing ring for use in this assembly is also provided, along with a gasket retention assembly.

A flat shim may be selected based on the size of the gap. The flat shim may be inserted between the first flange and the second flange. A plurality of bolts may be inserted through the first flange, the flat shim, and the second flange to seal the first duct segment to the second duct segment.

摘要： A metal seal fitting for use on a pipe or pipeline includes at least one metal seal ring having a C-profile which houses a spring and is arranged concentric to, and outside of, a tap diameter of the access connection. The seal ring is double-curved so that it conforms to a pipe-facing side of the fitting. A surface of the pipe is prepared to receive the seal and, as the fitting is being secured to the pipe, the seal is activated and spring-energized. In its final sealing state, the seal is not compressed passed its deformation point and maintains its spring-back capability. After the fitting is removed from the pipe, the seal may be re-used. The metal seal fitting is suited for applications requiring a high integrity seal and can be used in high pressure, high temperature, and highly corrosive environments which are not well-suited for elastomeric seals.

The annular metal seal includes a lip or leg section which is clamped in place between the female member body and the seal retainer. A hollow portion of the seal extends radially inwardly from the lip portion of the seal and is expansible to form a fluid tight seal against the body of the male member. The hollow portion of the metal seal is preferably cylindrical in cross-section and is sufficiently flexible in response to fluid pressure to form a fluid tight seal between the female member, male member, and seal retainer.
