摘要： Disclosed is a corrosion-free connector-structure of a fuel pump used in a vehicle fuel supply system. An electrical connector portion of a fuel pump is shaped into a square tube and its tubular wall is formed with a lock window for engagement with an engagement nail of a female connector and a fluid discharge port at an upper and lower portion thereof, respectively. As gasoline fuel level in the fuel tank lowers, the connector portion is exposed to air in the fuel tank and gasoline in the upper space within the connector portion or tubular wall pushes down and discharges water and degraded gasoline remaining in the lower space within the connector portion through the discharge port. Since water and degraded gasoline will not remain within the connector portion, electrical connector members or electrodes may be prevented from corrosion.

摘要： A variable output fuel pump includes a BLDC motor and a control module to supply three power phases A, B and C to the motor, wherein the control module connects to a power supply connection of a vehicle, and to a vehicle communications network such as a CANbus to control operation of the BLDC motor. The motor is driven by a motor driver that is connected to a micro-controller and in turn, the micro-controller is connected to a communications or CANbus I/F module. In this manner, the micro-controller can be operated by the vehicle control system such as an engine control unit (ECU) through a connection with the vehicle CANbus or other vehicle communications network. The motor driver also detects characteristics of the power used in the three power phases of the motor so that the system is operated with or without motor sensors located within the motor. By connection to the vehicle CANbus or other vehicle communications network, the vehicle ECU can be used to remotely control the fuel pump motor speed and other operational parameters of the motor to thereby provide a variable operate fuel pump.

摘要： An apparatus and a method are provided for an inline fuel pump for conveying liquid fuel from a fuel source to an intake of an internal combustion engine. The inline fuel pump operates with various fuels, such as gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, gasoline-ethanol blends, as well as commonly used fuel additives. The inline fuel pump comprises an inlet placed into fluid communication with the fuel source. An outlet of the inline fuel pump is placed into fluid communication with the intake. An electric motor coupled with an internal liquid pump convey liquid fuel from the inlet to the outlet. The electric motor and the internal liquid pump are housed within a sealed case configured to protect the electric motor and the liquid pump from an exterior environment. Power leads convey electrical power from an electrical system of the vehicle to the electric motor.

摘要： A fuel filter assembly incorporates a BLDC motor and control circuit configured to operate at a first rotational speed upon startup and switch to a second rotational speed when measured variables indicate that the filter assembly is filled with fuel. The first rotational speed is initiated as a default when power is applied to the control circuit. If the filter assembly has been serviced, it must be primed before resuming normal operation. The first rotational speed is significantly higher than the second rotational speed to reduce the amount of time necessary to prime the filter assembly. The control circuit is arranged to monitor a variable which corresponds to the torque necessary to drive the pump. When the pump is filled with air prior to priming, lower torque is required to drive the pump, which corresponds to lower current draw and power consumption at the BLDC motor.

In one embodiment, the system includes a fuel pump having a power and ground connection for pumping fuel. A fuel filter in fluid communication with the fuel pump, the fuel filter including one or more components made of a non-conductive plastic and having a sulfonated surface covered with a conductive surface formed over the sulfonated surface. The conductive surface is electrically coupled to the vehicle ground plane. A method is provided for mitigation of electrostatic discharge in a fuel module. In one embodiment, the method includes sulfonating non-conductive plastic components of the fuel module to provide a sulfonated layer on the non-conductive plastic components and forming a conductive layer over the sulfonated layer to provide an electrical discharge path for electrostatic buildup resulting from fuel moving through the fuel module.
