    • A device for untangling and dispersing fibrous materials present in fluid suspension in matted and interlocking form. The device includes a hollow stator and at least one rotor arranged for rotation about its longitudinal axis within the stator, the stator having an inner cross-section so shaped and the cylindrical rotor having a cross-section so shaped that, in use, on rotational movement of the rotor, suspending fluid located between the stator and the rotor is subjected to shear-forces which are continuously and uniformly built up and subsequently reduced again. A method for untangling and dispersing fibrous materials present in fluid suspension in matted and interlocking form, wherein the suspension is subjected to shear-forces which are continuously and uniformly build up and subsequently reduced again.

    • A torsional oscillation device for testing plastics material having a first clamp for holding one end of a plastics test specimen and a second clamp for the opposite end of the specimen. The second clamp is rigidly connected to an oscillator unit suspended from means for applying tension to hold the test specimen in tension, whereby the specimen, the oscillator unit and the second clamp form a torsion pendulum. A temperature chamber surrounds the specimen and a device measures the duration of oscillations of the torsional oscillation of the torsion pendulum. The means for applying tension is connected to a converter which converts the longitudinal movements of the tensioner into correspondingly valued electrical signals which render an indication of alterations in length of the test specimen.

    • A torsional oscillation device for testing plastics materials having a first clamp for gripping one end of a plastics material sample in a tempering chamber, and a second clamp for gripping the other end of the sample and rigidly connected to an oscillation body. The oscillation body, second clamp and the sample form a torsion pendulum in which oscillations are produced by a means through the oscillation body and a light transducer through a window in the oscillation body produces an electrical signal whose magnitude is dependent on the position of the oscillation body. The output of the transducer is connected to the actual-value input of a variable gain amplifier in a control device that drives a servo-motor which pivots the first clamp about the torsion pendulum axis. The nominal-value input of the control device corresponds to a predetermined relative position of the oscillation body and the part of the transducer not taking part in the pendulum oscillations.
