The key pad and display are located on the same side of the radiotelephone and a microphone and speaker are on the other side. The flip cover is hinged to a bottom edge of the radiotelephone. The hinge pivots through an angle of greater than 180 degrees. Accordingly, the hinge folds over at least a portion of the keypad when closed and unfolds to the opposite side of the radiotelephone to form an angle of less than 180 degrees with that opposite side. A microphone and antenna may be located within the flip cover.

In order to obtain the lowest possible uncertainty in frequency detection at unchanged counter frequencies (f.sub.r), the frequency modulated signal is mixed down to a difference frequency (f.sub.3) which is insignificantly higher than the sampling frequency (f.sub.s) required to extract the modulation information from the instantaneous counter value (N.sub.2) The frequency counter detector begins a counting sequence during each of the periods of the difference frequency.

摘要： A clip for surface-mounting a coupled-dual resonator crystal to a circuit board includes an elongated housing shaped complementary to the housing of the crystal and having an opening along a side for receiving the crystal. A tab spaces first and second shielding portions which overlie the end of the crystal housing. A first shield portion engages the middle ground terminal of the crystal shielding the input and output terminals, while the second shield extends from the first shield to overlie the output terminal, likewise shielding it from the input terminal. Distal portions of the input, output and common terminals, together with pads at the opposite end of the clip, mount the clip mechanically to the surface of a circuit board.

摘要： A downlink between a communications dispatch console and a digitally trunked radio repeater system site controller efficiently transfers message data between the site controller and the console over a standard 9.2 kilobit per second landline. A downlink trunking card identical in structure to trunking cards used in the preferred embodiment system for RF channel signal processing interfaces the site controller with the landline link. A similar trunking card on the other side of the landline link interfaces the dispatch console processor with the landline link. Message protocol and format is translated between the site controller and the landline link and between the landline link and the dispatch console. Data buffering at each end of the landline link maximizes data transfer rate over the landline, and in addition, a priority scheme insures that more important messages are transmitted over the downlink before less important messages. Retransmit-until-acknowledged protocol is used to insure reliable message transfer--and also to permit receiving units along the downlink to slow down transmitting units in order to avoid message traffic blockage.
