摘要： A period and frequency measurement device is provided having a sensor for measuring pulse waves and body movements. A window determination circuit sets a reference value in accordance with previously measured pulse waves and body movements and determines whether currently measured pulse waves and body movements is within a window defined by upper and lower margins relative to the reference value. A window correction circuit corrects the window to be used for a next pulse waves and body movement measurement by applying a specified correction to the current pulse waves and body movements measurement if a determination result of the window determination circuit indicates that the current pulse waves and body movements measurement is outside a current window.

摘要： To avoid the parasitic bipolar effect occurring in MOS type devices, a monolithic boosting integrated circuit is formed using dielectrically isolated charge boosting elements. Each boosting element is formed of a rectifying element and a charge storing element connected in series. A semiconductor on insulator substrate is formed with a supporting substrate, an insulating layer and a semiconductor layer. The charge boosting elements are formed in the semiconductor layer and are electrically isolated using a dielectric film deposited over the semiconductor layer. By isolating the devices from the substrate, the parasitic bipolar effect is avoided and downsizing is possible thus permitting the formation of complex circuitry in a monolithic integrated circuit package.

Upon judging an occurrence of exhaustion of sheets of paper according to a comparison result, the control unit may notify a user before starting printing in the printer.
