摘要： A honeycomb structure made of a silicon carbide-based porous body and having a number of through-holes extending in the axial direction, separated by partition walls. The strength and Young's modulus of the silicon carbide-based porous body satisfy the following relation: Strength (MPa)/Young's modulus (GPa)≧1.1. The honeycomb structure contains refractory particles such as silicon carbide particles and the like and yet can be produced at a relatively low firing temperature at a low cost, has a high strength and a high thermal shock resistance, and can be suitably used, for example, as a filter for purification of automobile exhaust gas by a treatment such as plugging of through-channel at its inlet or outlet, or as a catalyst carrier, even under a high SV condition.

When the transfer material is not present in the nip, a predetermined voltage is applied to the transfer member and current flowing through the transfer member is detected, and, when a change in the current is decreased below a predetermined value, the constant current control is started.

摘要： An electrophotosensitive material of the present invention is formed by providing a photosensitive layer containing a bis-azo pigment expressed in formula (1): ##STR1## wherein A.sup.1, A.sup.2, R.sup.1 and n are as defined, as a charge generating material, and a diamine compound expressed in formula (2): ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 p and q k, l, m and o are as defined, as a charge-trasferring material, on a conductive substrate. As a charge generating material, a perylene pigment, anthanthrone pigment, X-type metal-free phthalocyanine pigment, imidazoleperylene pigment or perylene bis-azo pigment are preferable used together with the bis-azo pigment. Thus, photosensitive material is excellent in sensitivity and durability.

摘要： An ink jet apparatus includes a pair of electrodes disposed on an inner wall of an ink reservoir that is provided with a nozzle. An AC voltage is applied to the electrodes to preheat the conductive ink and prevent electrolysis of the conductive ink. A DC voltage is applied to the electrodes after the ink has been preheated to evaporate the conductive ink so that the increase in ink volume jets the conductive ink from the nozzle. The AC voltage is applied within a frequency range especially effective to suppress electrolysis of the conductive ink.
