    • An apparatus includes a system for guiding chemiluminescence and a system for preventing a variation in dark currents. The apparatus includes a first light shielding BOX having a sample container holder and a shutter unit therein, the shutter unit including a top plate which is partly formed by a movement of a plate member and a second light shielding BOX having a photodetector therein. While a measurement is not implemented, the shutter unit is closed to block entrance of stray light to the photodetector, and while a measurement is implemented, the plate member is moved to open the shutter unit and the tip of the photodetector is inserted into a through hole formed in the top plate, so that the distance between the bottom of the sample container and a sensitive area of the photodetector is reduced to several millimeters or less.

    • A simplified initial image data is generated by thinning out an initial image data, which is obtained by shooting, at a predetermined rate. Image correction is performed to the simplified initial image data by using predetermined development parameters, and the simplified initial image data is converted into a simplified display image which is displayable in a monitor. An operator changes the development parameters while observing the simplified display image. Every time the development parameters are changed, the image correction with using changed development parameters is performed to the simplified initial image data, and the simplified display image is updated and displayed. The initial image data is subjected to the image correction with determined development parameters, and output after being converted into display image data.

    • An oscilloscope intensity regulation apparatus is disclosed. The oscilloscope displays wave-forms with the regulated intensity in spite of various wave-form repetition rates or sweep ranges. The scope has a CCD sensor 11 on a CRT 10. The CCD output 28 is applied to a video circuit 12 delivering a video signal 29. The CPU 4 instructs an intensity of an electron beam to a Z-axis circuit 8 and an AGC (automatic gain control) revision signal 27 to a AGC circuit 13 in accordance with an intensity input signal 21. The AGC circuit 13 controls its gain for amplifying a video signal 29 from the CCD 11 via the video circuit 12. When the video signal 29 is small in its amplitude, the AGC circuit 13 has a large gain. When the video signal 29 is large, the circuit 13 has a small gain. Therefore, an intensity of wave-forms being displayed is regulated in the intensity desired, in spite of various repetition rates of the wave-forms or sweep velocities.

    • An apparatus for transporting a postal matter comprises a main transporter for transporting the matter one by one and first and second auxiliary transporters extending form the feed-out end of the main transporter. The apparatus is stopped when jamming of postal matter occurs in the transporters and the gate causes the main transporter and first auxiliary transporters to be held connected for a predetermined period of time at the time of resuming the operation of the apparatus after removal of the jamming.

At least one of optical characteristics of the fluorescent substance and the semiconductor light emitting element is detected, and the color correction information stored in the storage section is corrected on the basis of the detected optical characteristic.
