    • A bicycle multiple sprocket assembly designed to prevent lateral deflection of a chain from concentrating on a portion of the chain immediately before engaging with a diametrically larger sprocket, and for shifting the chain smoothly and assuredly to a diametrically larger sprocket. The assembly includes at least one diametrically larger sprocket and at least one diametrically smaller sprocket, wherein a side surface of the diametrically larger sprocket facing the diametrically smaller sprocket is provided with a link plate supporting portion 12 or supporting edges of link plates of a chain C so as to bend the chain along a predetermined arc when the chain is shifted from the diametrically smaller sprocket to the diametrically larger sprocket.

    • The present invention provides a bicycle front derailleur mounted close above a multiple chainwheel for shifting the chain from one sprocket to another of the chainwheel. The derailleur comprises a parallelogrammic linkage mechanism deformably mounted to a seat tube of the bicycle frame, and a chain guide carried by the linkage mechanism. The linkage mechanism is always biased by a return spring in a direction to move the chain guide laterally away from the seat tube. The linkage mechanism includes an inner link and an outer link. The outer link has an upper end formed with an actuating arm extending laterally toward the seat tube for connection to a control cable which is used to pull up the actuating arm for deforming the linkage mechanism against the return spring.

    • A memory controlling apparatus for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces a field image signal in each read or write cycle performed by a video head for reproducing the image signal from a magnetic tape, and by a video head position detector for detecting the position of the video head. A reference circuit obtains a signal defining a reference timing which is independent of the position of the video head and which is also used to determine the phase of the video head. A memory is provided having storage sufficient to store the field image signal, and a controller is provided for controlling the operation of reading and writing the image signal from and into the memory. The controller is synchronized with a signal of the video head position detector when storing the image signal into the memory and when reading out the image stored in the memory, the controller and the head position detector are synchronized with the reference timing so as to enable production of a slow-motion image signal free from fluctuations caused by feeding of the magnetic tape.
