The method of preventing rattling of a sliding mechanism include the steps of disposing a moveable rail member on a frame, placing the sliding mechanism in contact with the moveable rail member, and applying a force to the moveable rail member to bias the moveable rail member toward the sliding mechanism so as to maintain contact between the moveable rail member and the sliding mechanism. The guide assembly may be disposed between two such moveable guide rails or between a moveable guide rail and a fixed guide rail.

摘要： A method for controlling whether or not to display the status monitor of a device. When a certain application program outputs a printing command and the status monitor of the printer is set to be displayed, data indicative of the application program is first obtained and compared with a list of problem application programs. If the name is not in the list, then the printing status monitor is displayed. However, if the name is found in the list, the status monitor is not displayed. This method increases efficiency of work for the user and prevents such problems as the computer hanging up or the programs being forcibly closed.

摘要： In an optical printing system for printing an image on a recording sheet, adopted as the recording sheet is a sheet coated with microcapsules on one surface thereon. Each microcapsule envelopes a first component which changes color when reacts with a second component. The second component may be coated on the recording sheet or may be coated on a separate developing sheet. The microcapsule further envelopes a third component which varies the mechanical strength of microcapsule when light is projected thereto. An image is formed on the recording sheet by selectively exposing a light thereto in accordance with the image to be printed thereon, and the microcapsules on the recording sheet whose mechanical strength is low are then ruptured by rupturing means. Thereby, the visible image is developed. The exposing is carried out by repeating a predetermined-period exposure at a predetermined interval against the same portion of the recording sheet. The printing operation of the printing system is executed by control means in accordance with a predetermined sequence.

摘要： Timing information for use to determine the timing to discharge a sheet from an image forming apparatus is transmitted. The timing information is relayed, by being edited repeatedly, from a first sheet processing apparatus connected directly with the image forming apparatus to a second sheet processing apparatus which actually processes the sheet. The timing information is edited on each sheet processing apparatus by considering, for example, transit time of the sheet, processing time of the sheet, preparation time for the sheet to get ready to be processed, and the like. The second sheet processing apparatus transmits the timing information to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus determines the discharge timing of the sheet based on the received timing information and discharges the sheet with the determined discharge timing.
