The cover assembly of the present invention is preferably constructed from two cooperating components, thereby providing ease of assembly and removal. In its preferred construction, the cover assembly is formed in a plurality of alternate colors, styles, designs, and the like, with or without indicia displayed thereon providing for visual distinctiveness and coordination with luggage products. Furthermore, the cover assembly is also constructed in a manner which enables the dials of the padlock to be easily accessed for use as well as incorporating a visually distinctive combination read-out zone for improved visibility.

摘要： A combination padlock includes: a plurality of magnifying lenses juxtapositionally mounted on a lock body of the padlock with each lens projectively corresponding to each numeral formed on each dial so that the numeral formed on each dial can be magnified by each magnifying lens for a clear reading by a user's eyes; and a hasp pivotally mounted in a side portion of the lock body of the combination padlock having an arcuate hook member operatively lockable with a hasp socket recessed in a projecting portion extending upwardly sidewardly from the lock body in an opposite direction of the arcuate hook member of the hasp for locking an object or a staple within the hasp with a wider angular movement of the hasp. The lock can be conveniently operated with one hand to not only rotate the dials and lock and unlock the hasp, but also to move the hasp into its fully open or locked positions. The magnifying lenses are integrally formed with a transparent cover assembly which is locked around the lock body by a portion of the hasp.

摘要： The assembly includes a lock with a main lock body having a bottom keyhole and an inverted u-shaped double rung top hasp connected to the top of the main body and extending upwardly therefrom. The assembly also includes a flexible, resilient, elastomeric protective lock cover removably enclosing and sealing the lock body against the elements. The cover is in two pieces. It includes a bottom portion extending over the lower sides of the lock body and continuing below the lock body. The bottom portion has opposed sides and a tapered bottom defining an openable closed slit through which, when opened, by squeezing opposed sides toward each other, the keyhole can be reached by a key. The cover also includes an upper cap having a top and interconnected depending sides. The inner surfaces of the cap sides bear a circumferential groove engageable with and of smaller diameter than the base of a circumferential bead with sloping top and bottom on the outer surface of the sides of the bottom portion. The groove and bead are horizontal and, when engaged, releasably hold the cap sealingly to the bottom portion. The top includes hasp holes into which downwardly projecting circumferential sealing extensions depend. The cover may be shaped to fit a flat, rectangular or square lock or a circular (in outline) lock and the cap top may include a hasp hole groove to facilitate movement of the free end of the hasp over the top.

This cap is locked into the padlock case by a loose ball fitting in a groove in the cap and in the case. This cap locking ball is in addition to two other conventional locking balls used to lock the shackle in one conventional type padlock. The shackle is retained by another ball which is carried by a shackle leg and cooperates with another groove in the case. The shackle locking ball is placed in or out of locking position by adjustment of a set screw in the shackle leg.

The saddle wedge device has ramp surfaces along one side thereof coactive with inclined cam surfaces of the cavity to impart a component of lateral movement to the device when an attack wedge-like tool is driven against the rear of the lock body into engagement with rearwardly projecting end portions of the device and cause surfaces of the device and of the cavity to tightly grip the hasp end portions against withdrawal.
