摘要： A method for treating a fabric having a discrete stained area, wherein the fabric has a first side and a second side, the method comprises the steps of: (a) applying a spot cleaning composition to the discrete stained area of the fabric; (b) contacting the first side of the fabric adjacent the stained area with an absorbent stain receiving article; (c) subjecting the second side of the fabric adjacent the stained a to a heat source; (d) optionally, concurrently or consecutively with Step (a), contacting the fabric adjacent the stained area with a treatment member; and (e) optionally, applying an aqueous rinsing solution to the fabric adjacent the stained area. The spot cleaning composition comprises a bleach, a solvent, a surfactant and water. Also provided are spot removal kits that include instructions for performing the present spot removal methods, and a process for cleaning and refreshing fabrics that can optionally be performed before or after the present spot removal methods.

The blend comprises a sulphate, carboxymethyl cellulose and a nonionic surfactant. The detergent composition comprises sodium metasilicate and does not include a zeolite, a perborate or a phosphate. The composition is capable of being stored in a water-soluble PVA film packaging for at least nine months and wherein the composition comprises between 1% and 15% percarbonate. The composition can include a phosphate substitute such as a polyacrylate. The composition can be compressed into a tablet format and used as a laundering product.

The compounds have general formula (I) wherein R1 is a moiety selected from a specific group, R2 is a C1-C8 linear or branched chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group and R3 is a C1-C4 linear or branched chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group. Preferred compounds include the compounds when R2 and R3 are CH3. Bleach additive and bleaching compositions including the asymmetrical bleach activators and methods of cleaning fabrics are also provided.

摘要： Sequestering agents for use as a whitening and fabric strength enhancer for aqueous hypochlorite bleach compositions are provided. It was found that the sequesterants when used with hypochlorite in the presence of soluble heavy metal ions, particularly iron and manganese ions, provide significantly improved whitening and fabric protection. Most preferably, the sequesterants are selected from polyacrylic acid, a polyacrylic acid derivative, a copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and a comonomer which is maleic acid or maleic anhydride and mixtures thereof. In one aspect, the sequesterants are employed in a method for laundering fabrics comprising: a) providing, in a wash liquor containing (i) at least about 40 ppb of iron cations or (ii) at least about 10 ppb of manganese cations, or (iii) the cations of both (i) and (ii), and a fabric piece; and b) adding either prior to, contemporaneously with, or after, the step of providing of said fabric piece to said wash liquor a hypochlorite composition which comprises one or more of said sequesterants. Preferably the sequesterant comprises at least 0.1 ppm by weight of said wash liquor and the hypochlorite composition is an alkali metal hypochlorite and said sequesterant has a molecular weight of between about 500 and 500,000 daltons.
