    • A seed tender is formed by a container with five compartments arranged in a row for mounting on a conventional trailer frame with a conveyor belt underneath discharge openings of the compartments for transporting the material to a rear where there is provided a discharge conveyor for transporting the material to a seeder. The discharge belt conveyor has a rectangular support frame and four sections which retract into the frame to stand upwardly along the rear in the retracted position. A mounting assembly provides a first swivel support for providing pivotal movement side to side of the support frame about a generally upstanding axis and a second swivel support for providing pivotal movement up and down of the support frame about a generally horizontal axis. The belt folds in the retracted position when driven by a chain retraction drive arrangement for driving extension and retraction of the conveyor belt support sections.

    • A low profile, wide belt mobilized bridge carrier is used in low vein mining operations. The mobilized bridge carrier of the present invention includes a carrier frame that carries the propulsion system and that supports the receiving boom, the discharge boom, the cab assembly and the canopy. The preferred mobilized bridge carrier is track propelled, and includes at least a pair of crawler track assemblies which are actuated by an electrically operated hydraulic motor. The receiving boom and the discharge boom are pinned together and each are pivotally mounted on carrier frame at a main pivot point. The carrier frame is of reinforced construction. The receiving boom and discharge boom of the present invention include low profile side panel assemblies which allow the present mobilized bridge carrier to be used in "low vein" mining applications. In order to compensate for any inherent loss of strength in the receiving boom that results from lowering the profile to accomplish its purpose of operating within low veins, the present receiving and discharge booms incorporate certain novel reinforcements, including inside reinforcement plates that extend substantially throughout the length of the booms and which is constructed of a plate of T1 steel approximately three/fourths of an inch to approximately one inch thick continuously welded to the interior of each of the sides of the booms.

    • A method and apparatus for continuously transporting mined material for a determined distance from a continuous mining machine in a mine having a roof and a floor to a permanently installed extendable length conveyor in a mine. The method is accomplished by installing an overhead rail supported conveyor along and above the fixed and extendable length conveyor. The overhead rail supported conveyor has at least a length equal to the determined distance and in addition the overhead rail supported conveyor includes a pivoted feed. A self-propelled tramming conveyor is installed having a length at least equal to the determined distance with its discharge cooperating with the pivoted feed of the overhead rail supported conveyor and its feed adapted to receive the material mined by a continuous mining machine. When the conveyors have travelled the determined distance, the overhead rail supported conveyor has its feed pivoted upwards flush with the remaining portion of the conveyor and rolled back over the fixed conveyor. The fixed conveyor is extended the length of a new determined distance. The overhead rail supported conveyor is then moved again over the fixed conveyor with its feed repivoted downwards in position to receive material from the tramming conveyor. The tramming conveyor is then moved back into position for a new mining sequence.
