摘要： A probe for measuring the level of a liquid and its method of manufacture are disclosed. A conducting circuit whose resistivity depends on temperature comprises a track applied to a substrate in which is formed a window which leaves free an appreciable length of track, so that its behavior is not disturbed by the presence of the substrate. The conducting circuit is partially immersed in the liquid and the voltage at its terminals is measured when a constant current flows therethrough. The voltage measurement is representative of the level of the liquid.

摘要： The electronic monitor includes a level-sensing circuit, a reference circuit, a comparator circuit, and a logic circuit. The level sensing-circuit includes at least one level sensor positioned within the reservoir adjacent to and below a predetermined level. The reference circuit includes a reference sensor positioned in the air adjacent to the maximum allowed level for the material. A current source applies current to all the sensors. The comparator circuit compares the voltage across the reference sensor and the voltage across the level sensor and provides a difference voltage to a logic circuit that activates selective signaling devices depended upon the level of the monitored material. The sensors are preferably negative-coefficient thermistors.

In order to assure that the resistance sensor can cool off again within the sampling period even after several starting attempts of the engine, the sequence control of the circuit arrangement connected with the voltage supply is connected with a further voltage source from which, after turning off the voltage supply, the sequence control is continued to be supplied with voltage by a switching circuit over a time interval which corresponds to the termination of the sampling period.

The measuring resistor is connected to two filters which extract the a.c. and d.c. components from the measuring signal. A temperature measuring device determines the difference in temperature of the liquid and the gas above the liquid. A computer receives signals from the filters and the temperature measuring device to determine the level of the liquid and its temperature.

The impedance of the element depends on temperature and provides a measure of the liquid level. 摘要： A device for electrically measuring the level of a liquid in a container has a protective tube (1) in which a conductive foil (5) is arranged untwisted. The protective tube (1) is made of two tube sections (2, 3) which are connected to each other by a joint (4). The joint (4) has a well-defined direction of bend as a result of reinforcing ribs (14, 15). This direction is such that the protective tube (1) can be bent only transverse to the plane of the conductive foil (5). The joint (4) is furthermore so developed that the tube sections (2, 3) are urged into a position in which they are aligned with respect to each other. In this way the device can be installed in a container in such a manner that the lower tube section (3), while forming an obtuse angle with the upper tube section (2), has its bottom end resting against a container bottom (16).

摘要： A hot-wire level detecting apparatus includes a micro-processor which registers a look-up table of digital level values associated with digital values of a differential parameter representing the change in the voltage or current in the hot-wire probe. The micro-processor controls a switch for initiating the application of power to the probe. In one embodiment a constant voltage supply is connected across the emitter and collector of a transistor with the probe in the emitter circuit and a resistor in the collector circuit. The voltage across the resistor, measured at switch-on and after a period for stabilization, is fed to the micro-processor by an analog-digital converter.
