摘要： A method of charging fibrous webs with nonaqueous polar liquids. A web 20 that contains nonconductive fibers is wetted with a nonaqueous polar liquid 14. The web 20 is then substantially dried 22 to provide a fibrous electret web. The fibrous electret web can be used as a filter in a filtration face mask 40 that is adapted to cover the nose and mouth of the wearer. The present method has the advantage over known charging methods in that the nonaqueous liquid requires less energy for drying than is required for aqueous liquids. Additionally, many filter webs can be directly wetted with nonaqueous liquids, which cannot be easily wetted with aqueous liquids.

Nonwovens finished according to the present process have long lasting antimicrobial efficacy and are advantageous with respect to inhibition of micro-organisms, reduction of the risk of contamination, reduction of odor, increase in freshness and improvement in hygienic conditions.

摘要： This invention relates to a manufacturing process of synthetic yarn and the produced yarn which has superior texture and brightness, and excellent color developing, hygroscopicity, and anti-static properties. A plurality of monofilaments is drawn out at an appropriate speed, dried and heated. Then a property enhancing agent containing a metallic salt, alcohol, optional solvent and optional additional functional agent, such as a hygroscopic agent, ultraviolet protecting agent, or resist agent, etc. is applied onto the surface of the filaments which are melted and flame bonded to each other. Multi-filaments are formed with spaces therebetween in which the functional agent remains inserted. The new synthetic yarn is produced after the multi-filaments are subjected to washing, drying and take-up procedures.

摘要： A composition for increasing the resistance of polyamide fibers or polyester fibers to oxidizing agents comprising an organosiloxane modified with amino groups, melamine formaldehyde resin, a catalyst for complexing the melamine formaldehyde resin and water. The composition is used by applying it to the fibers so the fibers absorb the composition, and then drying and curing the composition on the fibers. The composition is employed to treat a polyester or polyamide felt employed to convey wood pulp which is to be bleached, prior to paper making operations, treatment of the felt with the composition significantly lengthens the useful life of the felt, exposed to bleaching chemicals.
