Synchronization is provided between the advance of the media in the printer and in the laminator. This is done preferably using counting devices associated to the printer and the laminator, or buffer shape sensors, or control indicia on the media. The apparatus may perform a resetting operation of the media buffer.

摘要： To control the cutting register of a web in a web-fed rotary press with little expenditure, a specific item of image information or a measuring mark of a printed web is registered by at least one sensor. The sensor generates a registration signal which is supplied to a control device. The registration of the image information or measuring marks is carried out immediately before or on a knife cylinder. A cutting register error is determined from the registration information and the position of the knife cylinder is influenced to correct the determined cutting register error.

摘要： A system and method for utilizing web that is free of tractor pin feed holes comprises the driving of the web along a predetermined path within the utilization device. A web guide is provided in an upstream location from a utilization device element. The guide engages width-wise edges of the web and forms the web into a trough to stiffen the web. A drive roller and a follower roller impinge upon opposing sides of the web and rotate to drive the web through the guide. The drive roller is located adjacent to the guide according to a preferred embodiment. A registration controller is utilized to synchronize the movement of the web with the operation of the utilization device element. The controller includes a drive controller that controls the speed of either the drive roller or the utilization device element to maintain the web and the utilization device element in appropriate synchronization.

摘要： An automatic document feeder for use with an electrophotographic copier, digital copier or similar image recorder capable of transporting ordinary documents in the form of separate sheets and a continuous document in the form of computer form (CF) paper which is formed with equally spaced sprocket holes, as desired. A sprocket hole sensor is disposed on an imaginary line along which the sprocket holes of the CF paper are moved. A control device reversibly controls the transport of the CF paper to a predetermined reference position on a glass platen in association with the number of sprocket holes being counted. The document feeder is capable of not only copying a desired page of the CF paper but also implementing jam recovery in the event when a paper sheet jams the image recorder.
