摘要： A shearing apparatus adapted to cut one or more notches at the end of a pipe and the like, to produce properly fitting endwise engagement of that end of the pipe against another pipe. This shearing apparatus features only one cycle of operation to cut two notches, no repositioning of the tubular member to cut more than one notch at one of its ends, and cutting of notches at any desired position around one end of a pipe without having to reposition the latter. This shearing apparatus includes a first die member having die sections positioned in predetermined radially outward directions relative to the end of the pipe to be notched, and a second die member that is pivotally displaceable in those directions to outwardly cut the notches against those die sections.

The weld fitting is welded to the other weld fitting so that the positioning scale is matched with a reference mark provided on the clamp portion.

摘要： A thermoplastic pipe distribution system is assembled by electromagnetic bond welding of a thermoplastic pipe to a thermoplastic fusion pipe joint assembly comprising a threaded fusion pipe ring, a threaded fusion pipe socket, and a susceptor layer between the fusion pipe ring and the fusion pipe socket. The fusion pipe ring is screwed into the fusion pipe socket, and the pipe is inserted into the fusion pipe ring. An induction coil is placed around the fusion pipe socket. Radiated electromagnetic energy heats the susceptor layer to melt at least a portion of the susceptor layer, at least a portion of the fusion pipe ring, at least a portion of the fusion pipe socket, and at least a portion of the pipe. The fusion pipe ring is further screwed in to compress the molten material. The joint is then cooled to solidify the molten material.

摘要： Unabsorbed infrared laser light that has passed though plastic parts to be welded with a low absorption TTIr process is recirculated back to the low absorption weld interface for reabsorption in the process. A beam of infrared laser light is directed at the plastic parts to be welded, a transmissive first part and an absorptive (or partially absorptive) second part. The infrared laser light impinges the transmissive part and first transits through the transmissive part to be welded to a weld interface at the junction of the two parts. At the weld interface, either the infrared laser light is partially absorbed by an additive infrared absorber, the infrared laser light is partially absorbed by the absorptive part, or both. The portion of the infrared laser light that is not absorbed continues through the absorptive part and exits the far side. This infrared laser light is then redirected back to the weld interface.

摘要： A sleeve for clamping and connecting items to be clamped or connected includes a plurality of windings of heat shrinkable material bound into a sleeve which is placed over the item to be clamped or items to be connected. The heat shrinkable material in the sleeve is secured in such a way that upon application of heat to the sleeve, the heat shrinkable windings will shrink and exert inward compressive pressure about the inner surface of the sleeve and thereby about the item to be clamped or the items to be connected. When desired for clamping a tubular item, the clamp can be incorporated as part of the tubualr item by incorporating the windings of heat shrinkable material into the end of the tubular item. The method of clamping of the invention includes the steps of positioning a tubular item over the item to which it is to be clamped and then placing a pluraltiy of windings of a heat shrinkable material about the tubular item where it surrounds the item to which it is to be clamped. Heat is then appllied to the windings to cause them to shrink and put clamping pressure about the tubular item.

摘要： A pipeline system is provided for a pumping system for fluid products, such as gasoline, diesel fuel and chemicals, and including a pump for pumping such products from a storage tank through through the primary pipeline of the pipeline system to a product dispenser. The pipeline system includes a secondary containment system for the primary pipeline between the tank and dispenser which includes telescoping pipe sections of different diameters. The telescoping piping is installed around the primary pipeline and the pipe sections are, prior to final installation, movable between intermediate and final positions, for enabling completion, testing and inspection of the primary pipeline prior to final completion of the secondary containment system. A fusion welding wire bond is provided between overlapping portions of the telescoping pipe sections for bonding these sections in the final positions thereof. An air test clamp assembly enables air pressure testing of the secondary containment system.
