    • A squelch circuit and a communication apparatus used with the same that are able to generate a squelch signal even if a squelch period is short and an operation of a squelch detecting circuit is insufficient, the circuit having: a squelch detecting circuit detecting the existence of a signal on a communication line in response to a transmission signal or a received signal and generating a first squelch signal; and a squelch control circuit generating a squelch mask signal in response to the first squelch signal and a transmission control signal and generating a second squelch signal based on the squelch mask signal and the control signal. The first squelch signal is controlled by the transmission signal to generate the second squelch signal in which the lacked portion of the first squelch signal is temporally restructured.

    • A main control portion of a vehicle has an LF transmission antenna for transmitting a search signal. The LF transmission antenna has five antennas respectively provided on door knobs of the vehicle. A smart key receives the search signals transmitted from respective antennas constituting the LF transmission antenna, and then measures a filed strength of the received search signal. The smart key transmits field strength information representing the measured field strength to the main control portion. The main control portion calculates relative position information of the vehicle to the smart key, based on the field strength information. On the basis of the relative position information, the main control portion controls the door of the vehicle to be locked or unlocked.

    • A novel enzyme which has an activity to release side chain carboxyl groups and ammonia from a protein by acting upon side chain amido groups in the protein. This invention relates to a method for the production of an enzyme, which comprises culturing in a medium a strain that belongs to a bacterium classified into Cytophagales or Actinomycetes and has the ability to produce an enzyme having a property to deamidate amido groups in protein, thereby effecting production of said enzyme, and subsequently collecting said enzyme from the culture mixture. It also relates to a method for the modification of protein making use of a novel enzyme which directly acts upon amido groups in protein as well as to an enzyme which has a property to deamidate amido groups in protein and a gene which encodes said enzyme.
