    • A radiation image read-out apparatus is constituted for scanning a stimulable phosphor sheet carrying a radiation image stored thereon with a beam of stimulating rays which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the stored radiation energy, and photoelectrically detecting the light emitted by a stimulable phosphor sheet portion scanned with the beam of stimulating rays by use of a photodetector to obtain an image signal. The radiation image read-out apparatus is constituted so that the beam diameter of the beam of stimulating rays is adjusted to be smaller than a picture element size and each of picture elements is scanned by a plurality of scanning passes with the beam of stimulating rays. An addition device is provided for adding a plurality of image signals per picture element obtained by the plurality of scanning passes.

    • There is provided an image recording device which is compact and free of waste materials, which has a completely dry system and a simplified exposure system, and which can carry out high speed image recording. The image recording device includes, within a housing of the image recording device, an accommodating section for accommodating a light and heat sensitive recording material; a light recording section for exposing the light and heat sensitive recording material, which is supplied from the accommodating section, with light to record a latent image; a heat developing section for developing the latent image by applying heat; a light fixing section for irradiating light to fix the developed image; and a discharging section for discharging the light and heat sensitive recording material having an image recorded thereon. Exposure is carried out by a plurality of LEDs provided at a light source section of an exposure unit of the light recording section.

    • Each of two-dimensional sensors is exposed to an electron beam, which has passed through a sample, in a vacuum in order to store the energy from the electron beam on the two-dimensional sensor, and is then exposed to light or heat in order to release the stored energy as emitted light. The emitted light is photoelectrically detected and an image signal is thereby obtained which represents an electron microscope image of the sample. Read-out conditions which are to be used when the emitted light is detected are determined from an electron beam exposure amount which was set when the energy from the electron beam was stored on each two-dimensional sensor. Signals representing the read-out conditions determined for the two-dimensional sensors are stored in a storage device so that it is clear which read-out conditions correspond to which two-dimensional sensor. When light emitted by a two-dimensional sensor is to be detected, a signal which represents the read-out conditions corresponding to the two-dimensional sensor is read from the storage device, and the read-out conditions are set.
