    • A combustion power tool having a first combustion chamber, a second combustion chamber, an igniter, a partition, and a driving mechanism. Flammable gas is introduced or charged into the first and second combustion chamber. The igniter is disposed in the first combustion chamber. The partition separates the first combustion chamber from the second combustion chamber. Communication holes are formed in the partition at different angles with respect to the longitudinal direction of the first combustion chamber. The communication holes communicate the first combustion chamber with the second combustion chamber. The driving mechanism performs a predetermined processing work by utilizing an explosive combustion pressure. The combustion pressure is generated when flammable gas in the first combustion chamber is explosively burned by the igniter and when the burning front of the flammable gas in the first combustion chamber propagates to the second combustion chamber via the communication holes of the partition thereby explosively burning flammable gas in the second combustion chamber.

    • A flaw detection apparatus for detecting flaws at the outer surface of a product, such as a steel bar, wire or steel pipe, which is round in section and produced by the hot rolling, by use of a probe of non-contact type and rotating around the product to be inspected, the apparatus providing a means for suppressing vibrations of an object to be inspected, a means for measuring a distance (lift-off) between the object to be inspected and the probe, and a means for carrying out positional control on the basis of the detection result of the lift-off measurement so that the axis of rotation of probe is allowed to be coincident with the axis of object to be inspected. In a case of using the eddy current inspection for the flaw detection, two coils of standard comparison system are used and a mixed signal of a plurality of frequencies is applied to the coils so that a signal obtained by the probe coils suppresses the signal component caused by the lift-off variation and corrects the flaw signal caused by existence of the signal component, thereby eliminating the influence of lift-off variation and enabling measurement with high accuracy.

    • A technique for improving the cooling performance of a combustion chamber in a combustion power tool is provided. The combustion power tool includes first and second combustion chambers, a partition that separates the first combustion chamber from the second combustion chamber, openings, formed in the partition and communicate the first combustion chamber with the second combustion chamber, and a drive section that moves toward a front end by combustion pressure. The combustion pressure is generated when a flow of flammable gas, which is produced by combustion of the flammable gas in the first combustion chamber propagates to the second combustion chamber through the openings, and burns flammable gas in the second combustion chamber. The combustion gas flows from the first combustion chamber to the second combustion chamber in a direction around a central axis of the second combustion chamber while flowing along an inner wall of the second combustion chamber.

    • It is an object of the present invention to provide a combustion power tool having a rational construction. A representative combustion power tool according to the invention may include a combustion chamber, a fuel supplier to supply fuel into the combustion chamber, an igniter disposed in the combustion chamber, a driving mechanism actuated to perform a predetermined operation by utilizing a combustion pressure generated when the fuel is burned in the combustion chamber and an actuator that operates the fuel supplier and the igniter in one operation. Based on the operation of the actuator, fuel is supplied into the combustion chamber via the fuel supplier and the igniter performs ignition in relation to the pressure of the fuel supplied into the combustion chamber changes. According to the invention, because the fuel supplying and ignition can be done by the actuator in one operation, ignition can be performed in constant timing after fuel is supplied via the fuel supplying means. As a result, the operability can be improved and stable combustion can be always achieved.
