    • A pulse generating circuit for a plasma ignition system includes a thyristor connected between a supply terminal and earth. A primary winding (Wp) of a transformer (TR) and a first capacitor (C.sub.1) are connected across the thyristor. The supply terminal is also connected through a secondary winding (W.sub.s) and a diode (D) to an output terminal. A saturable core inductor (L) and a second capacitor (C.sub.2) are connected in series across the output terminal and earth. A plasma plug is also connected across the output terminal and earth. In operation, the first and second capacitors are charged and the thyristor is fired. A high voltage pulse is applied by the secondary winding (W.sub.s) to the plasma plug causing electric breakdown. The second capacitor (C.sub.2) then discharges through the inductor (L) and the plasma plug. Four alternative circuits are also described.

    • A drop-on demand ink jet printer and a method of ink jet printing are disclosed which produce drops whose diameter have a ratio to the internal diameter of their print nozzles of 1:2 instead of the standard ratio of 2:1. This change in the basic ratio of drop diameter to print nozzle diameter is a result of the motion imparted to the print liquid by the actuation of the print nozzle. The print nozzle is cocked, released, and abruptly stopped to impart forward momentum to the print liquid near the orifice of the print nozzle. This momentum urges the liquid to be expelled from the print nozzle. Cutting the orifice of the print nozzle at an oblique angle to the run of the print nozzle creates a leading edge on the print nozzle which increases control of drop placement. The leading edge encourages formation of a single umbilicus of expelled print liquid from which a drop will be severed.

    • Embodiments are described that enable remote and interactive access, navigation, and analysis of reactions from viewers to a media instance. The reactions include physiological responses, survey results, verbatim feedback, event-based metadata, and derived statistics for indicators of success and failure from the viewers. The reactions are aggregated, and an interface enables remote access and navigation of the media instance, aggregated physiological responses synchronized with the media instance, survey results, and/or verbatim feedback related to the media instance. This enables users to interactively divide, dissect, parse, and analyze the reactions as they prefer. This automation provides an automated process enabling non-experts to understand complex physiological data, and to organize presentation of complex data according to their needs so as to present conclusions as appropriate to the media instance.

    • The present invention provides a deflectable catheter-based system for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic agents, cellular materials and the like to one or more sites in a target body tissue. The system provides for one or more injections to a predetermined needle insertion depth with a single core needle that can be advanced and retracted from the tip of the catheter. The catheter assembly includes a handle subassembly having a mechanism for setting and limiting the depth of insertion of the needle, a slide for moving the injection needle between retracted and extended positions, a return spring for biasing the needle to the retracted position, and a modified pulley mechanism for compensating for catheter shaft compression when the catheter is deflected.

    • A mechanism is provided for gating a read access of any row in a cache access memory that has been invalidated. An address decoder in the cache access memory sends a memory access to a non-gated wordline driver and a gated wordline driver associated with the memory access. The non-gated wordline driver outputs the data stored in a valid bit memory cell to the gated wordline driver in response to the non-gated wordline driver determining the memory access as a read access. The gated wordline driver determines whether the data from the valid bit memory cell from the non-gated wordline driver indicates either valid data or invalid data in response to the gated wordline driver determining the memory access as a read access and denies an output of the data in a row of memory cells associated with the gated wordline driver in response to the data being invalid.
