    • A heat-dissipating extender is provided in a joint between a sealed-gas burner having a burner fitting and a gas supply tube having a tube fitting. The heat-dissipating extender includes a body having a first end, a second end, and an interior passage extending between the first end and the second end for passage of the gas from the tube to the burner. The first end has a first fitting interfitting with the burner fitting to provide a seal against leakage of fluid pressure. The second end has a second fitting interfitting with the tube fitting to provide a seal against leakage of fluid pressure. The body is adapted for dissipating heat to provide a substantial temperature differential between the first end and the second end when heat is applied to the burner fitting at the first end during operation of the burner so that the tube connection at the second end remains sealed. The extender is formed from a material having a low thermal conductivity such as stainless steel and has a plurality of grooves to form radially extending ribs.

    • A detection assembly is for a refrigeration system which has a cooling unit subject to frost build-up and defrost-to-drain. The assembly includes a first thermal sensor normally exposed to air but also to frost on the cooling unit or water in a plugged drain. A frost or water detection circuit has an input from the first thermal sensor, the detection circuit detects build-up of frost around the first thermal sensor and generates a defrost initiate DI signal which is connected to terminate the refrigeration to the cooling unit and then to initiate a defrost cycle wherein heat is applied to defrost the cooling unit. A second thermal sensor is in good thermal contact with said cooling unit, and a defrost terminate circuit has an input from said second thermal sensor to terminate the defrost cycle. A similar detection circuit determines the existence of ice or water in a plugged drain and terminates the refrigeration or indicates an alarm, or both. A cartridge is threaded into the second opening, and within the cartridge is a pressure transducer in a transducer chamber. The pressure transducer may need servicing and, to do so, the cartridge is unthreaded from the housing, with the initial unthreading closing a first valve controlling fluid flow between the first and second openings. Conversely, as the cartridge is reinstalled on the housing, the final threading during tightening opens the first valve. This minimizes leakage of refrigerant to atmosphere for servicing.     • A tube coupling with only a body and a threaded member is disclosed, the threaded member usually being a nut to overlie an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve unitary with the body. These two sleeves define therebetween an annular groove to receive the end of the tube.
