    • Apparatus and method for mechanically attached connections of conduits may include a conduit gripping member, a drive member, and a seal member, the drive member causing axial movement of the conduit gripping member to indent into an outer surface of the conduit when the assembly is pulled-up, the drive member causing the seal member to form a zero clearance seal at a location that is axially spaced from the conduit gripping member. The zero clearance seal may comprise a face seal arrangement including a gasket, and the conduit gripping member may be a ferrule, ring or other device that can grip and optionally seal against the conduit outer surface. The assembly may include a sensing function for detecting or sensing a characteristic or condition of an assembly component or the fluid or both. In one embodiment, a body coupling member has a two piece construction of a main body and a conduit socket insert. A flared fitting embodiment is also provided. Sensing functions are also incorporated into fittings other than just zero clearance fittings.

    • A connector arrangement for a fluid system includes a fuel injector that defines a first fluid passage having a connector, a pipe that is engageable with the connector of the first fluid passage, preferably to form a high pressure seal, and a nut arranged to connect the pipe to the connector of the first fluid passage. A chamber is defined between the nut and the fuel injector, such chamber serving to collect leaked fluid from the first fluid passage. The fuel injector is provided with a second fluid passage having a first end in communication with the chamber and a second end in communication with a low pressure drain such that leaked fuel is provided with a drain path.

    • A pipe joint contains a body having a fluid passage in the interior thereof, a tightening cap screw-engaged with an end of the body for connecting a tube thereto, and an indicator ring interposed between a stopper of the body and an end of the tightening cap. The indicator ring is equipped with a flat section and an inclined section, which is inclined with respect to the flat section, and is formed with a smaller diameter than an outer circumferential surface of the tightening cap. When the tightening cap is screw-rotated to thereby connect the tube, as a result of the inclined section being pressed and deformed by movement of the tightening cap, the inclined section projects radially outward with respect to the outer circumferential surface of the tightening cap, whereby a tightened condition is visually confirmed by the outer edge of the indicator ring.

    • A tube nut includes a first member and a second member. The first member is threaded and defines a first hole. The second member is selectively rotatable with respect to the first member and defines a second hole. A tube or pipe extends through the first and second holes. The rotation of the first member in a threaded hole causes an axial load on the second member and the tube to urge the tube against a seat to provide a seal between the tube and a fluid passage. Relative rotation between the first and second members reduces or eliminates torsional strain on the tube.

    • Coupling structures for tubing are disclosed. Particularly, caps configured for receiving one or more tube segments therein, and securing the tube segments to a component having protrusions thereon including bores therethrough in a fluid-tight manner are disclosed. The caps may have bores longitudinally therethrough for receiving the tube segments, the bore walls being free from projections to fit tightly against the tube segments. A longitudinally distal annular recess of the cap may be threaded to be secured to a component. In another alternative, caps having separate apertures for receiving attachment elements to secure the cap and the component are disclosed. Caps configured with a bore for receiving a tube segment, and separate apertures for receiving attachment pins are additionally disclosed.
