摘要： An ignition-timing controlling apparatus for an internal combustion controls a basic ignition timing during cranking of the engine so as to correctively shift the basic ignition timing toward a retard angle side when the number of times of ignitions occurring in the combustion chamber of the engine are detected to have reached a predetermined number of times after the start of cranking operation. The amount of corrective shifting of the basic ignition timing toward the retard angle side is set by the ignition-timing controlling apparatus, on the basis of a temperature rise in the combustion chamber that is estimated by the detection of the number of times of ignitions. The ignition practically conducted by the internal combustion engine during cranking of the engine is controlled so as to meet with the correctively shifted ignition timing to thereby prevent both a reduction in the developed torque due to an excessive advance of the basic ignition timing, and generation of reverse torque, and to enhance the cranking performance of the internal combustion engine.

摘要： An engine starting control apparatus is basically provided with a motor control section, a valve timing control section and a start control section. The motor control section is configured to operate an electric motor to crank an engine with an output of the electric motor being adjustable. The valve timing control section is configured to operate a variable valve operating mechanism when the engine is started to change at least a close timing of an intake valve of the engine from an initial timing to a start timing such that the start timing is set closer to an intake bottom dead center during a single engine start as compared to the initial timing. The start control section is configured to adjust the output of the electric motor as the close timing of the intake valve changes from the initial timing to the start timing during the single engine start.

摘要： The startup time of an engine is shortened by performing initial fuel injection after the start of cranking on a cylinder undergoing an intake stroke and a cylinder undergoing an exhaust stroke. After the initial fuel injection, HC emissions are suppressed by performing fuel injection in cylinders undergoing an exhaust stroke. Furthermore when it is determined that initial combustion has not occurred after the initial fuel injection, an additional injection is performed on the cylinder undergoing an intake stroke. In this manner, it is possible to minimize increases in the startup time and adverse effects on exhaust emissions.

The temperature in the combustion chamber of an engine cylinder is stabilized upon starting of the engine, thereby allowing secured staring without cranking. When predetermined idling stop conditions (or engine stop conditions) are established, the temperature in the combustion chamber is estimated based on engine operating conditions read before such establishment, and the period of maintaining a engine rotational speed in a predetermined low range before stopping the engine is calculated or estimated based on the estimated temperature in the combustion chamber. The engine is then stopped after the calculated or estimated period of maintaining the engine rotational speed in the predetermined low range.

摘要： A fuel injection control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a controller functions to command the fuel injectors for a cylinder in the exhaust stroke and for a cylinder in the intake stroke to simultaneously perform a primary fuel injection, when the first cylinder-stroke identification is performed, if the engine temperature is higher than a predetermined temperature. The controller further functions to command the fuel injector only for a cylinder in the intake stroke to perform a primary fuel injection, when the first cylinder-stroke identification is performed, if the engine temperature is less than the predetermined temperature. Thus the startup time of the engine is shortened and the stability of startup is ensured at normal, low, or extremely low temperatures.
