The first coil has a plurality of first partial coil sections radiating outward in a radial direction of the output shaft and first connecting sections each connecting two first partial coil sections. The second coil has a plurality of second partial coil sections radiating outward in the radial direction and second connecting sections each connecting two second partial coil sections. The total number of the first partial coil sections is different from that of the second partial coil sections. The electric current supplying section is configured to supply electric current to the coil disc. The magnet is disposed in opposition to the first and second partial coil sections.

The tool includes a housing 2, a motor 31 disposed in the housing 2, a plunger 63 disposed in the housing and driven by the motor 31 for driving a nail 1A, a cable member 52 connected to the plunger 63 for pulling the plunger 63 from its bottom dead center where the nail is driven into a workpiece to a top dead center, and a drum 51 driven by the motor for winding the cable member thereover. A cable member is wound over the drum by a length greater than a linear distance between the bottom dead center and the top dead center. The cable member is flexed or deflected due to own weight when the plunger is at the bottom dead center.

A drive shaft is concentric with and integral with the flywheel. A coil spring is fixed to the drive shaft. A driven rotor is coaxial with the drive shaft and has one end portion serving as a spring seat portion positioned within the coil spring. A pinion is disposed at the driven rotor and is meshedly engaged with the rack. An urging section is disposed within the driven rotor. A ball is movably disposed in a through-hole formed in the driven rotor for urging an end portion of the coil spring by the urging section. A solenoid controls a protruding amount of the ball from the surface of the driven rotor.
