摘要： A shock absorber including a main housing body having a cylindrical portion and closure portions closing the open ends of the cylindrical portion, an inner cylindrical member disposed within the main body and cooperating therewith to define an inner cylinder chamber and an outer annular space, and a piston slidably received within the cylinder chamber, so as to divide the cylinder chamber into two fluid chambers filled with an electro-viscous fluid. The fluid chambers communicate with each other through communication passage which includes a portion formed within the annular space. An operating and a balancing rod are secured to the piston and extend slidably through the respective two closure portions of the main body. The shock absorber includes at least one pair of electrodes one of which consists of a portion of the cylindrical portion of the main body and the other of which consists of a portion of the inner cylindrical portion. The electrodes are disposed so as to define at least a portion of the communication passage, for applying a voltage to the fluid in that portion of the passage.

摘要： A damping actuator includes: an inner shaft member; an outer sleeve member disposed in a coaxial relationship with each other with a radial spacing therebetween such that the outer sleeve member being movable relative to the inner shaft member; a coil and an inner yoke disposed coaxially with and fixedly mounted to the inner shaft member so as to give inner magnetic pole portions; and a permanent magnet and an outer yoke fixedly mounted to the outer sleeve member so as to give outer magnetic pole portions. The outer magnetic pole portions are opposed to the inner magnetic poles in a radial direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the inner shaft member with a radial gap therebetween, and are offset from the plurality of inner magnetic poles in the axial direction. The coil is energized for generating magnetic axial driving force acting between said inner and outer magnetic poles so that the inner and outer magnetic poles are moved relative to each other in the axial direction. Damping devices equipped with the damping actuator are also disclosed.

Both the data map storage media are added to the active control apparatus of the mass-produced vehicle M. Using both the data maps, it is possible to appropriately and actively control the vibration of the mass-produced vehicle without variation.

摘要： A fluid-filled elastic mount wherein an elastic body elastically connecting a first and a second support partially defines a fluid chamber filled with a non-compressible fluid. The elastic mount includes an oscillating plate which partially defines the fluid chamber and which is displaceable to change a pressure of the fluid in the fluid chamber, and a permanent magnet disposed on one of opposite sides of the oscillating plate remote from the fluid chamber. A first and a second yoke member are connected to opposite magnetic pole faces of the magnet and cooperate with the magnet to define a closed magnetic circuit. The yoke members define therebetween an annular gap in the magnetic circuit, in which an annular moving coil is received. The coil is fixed to the oscillating plate, to oscillate the oscillating plate upon energization of the coil. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the elastic mount, in which a blank for the magnet is magnetized together with the yoke members after the blank and yoke members are assembled into a unit.

摘要： A fluid-filled cylindrical elastic mount having an inner and an outer sleeve which are disposed in mutually spaced-apart relation with each other, and an elastic body interposed between the inner and outer sleeves so as to elastically connect the inner and outer sleeves. The elastic body at least partially defines a fluid-filled chamber located between the inner and outer sleeves in a load-receiving direction in which a vibrational load is applied to the elastic mount. The elastic body includes a thin-walled portion which partially defines the fluid-filled chamber and which elastically yields to permit the chamber to be elastically deformed upon application of the vibrational load. A movable member is accommodated in the fluid-filled chamber such that the movable member is freely movable over a predetermined distance in the load-receiving direction. The movable member and inner surfaces of the fluid chamber cooperate with each other to define resonance portions having a predetermined radial depth as measured in the load-receiving direction.
