    • An embodiment of the invention provides a tool for modifying a mask design layout to be printed. The tool is executed by a computer system, and includes code for establishing a first level of correction for a mask design layout for a predetermined parametric yield without cost of correction to area of the mask design layout. The tool also includes code for correcting the mask design layout at said first level of correction based on a correction algorithm, the correction algorithm selecting a cell of the mask design layout having an edge placement error (EPE) for each gate feature in the cell. The correction algorithm selects the cell without loss to parametric yield as established by the predetermined parametric yield.

    • An answer support system generates a target cause to aid in solving a current problem. Upon receiving known problem symptoms of the current problem from the customer, a search of problem causes is conducted in a knowledge database to find potential causes corresponding to the known problem symptoms. If conventional techniques cannot determine the target cause of the current problem, an attribute is selected which is not among the attributes associated with the known problem symptoms in the database. The attribute selection is based on the attribute deemed most likely to identify the target cause of the current problem from among the potential causes found in the knowledge database.

    • The present invention relates to a new network architecture and its data transmission method based on percolation. The disclosed network architecture is a server-free and router-free network structure, wherein efficient routing can be operated with percolations based on the six degrees of separation theory in small world network modeling. An information transmission will be divided into two phases: routing phase and data transmission phase. In the routing phase, probe packets will be transmitted and forwarded in the network thus path selections are performed based on small-world strategy. In the second phase, the information will be encoded and transmitted using the paths selected at the first phase. In such a way, an efficient routing and data transmission mechanism can be built which allow us to construct a low-cost, flexible and ubiquitous network.
