    • The present invention provides a photothermographic material which can provide an image having a high sharpness, exhibits a good transparency, is less liable to fog and is unsusceptible to discoloration during storage. The present invention also provides a photothermographic material which can provide a less fogged image having a high sharpness without using any mercury compound. A photothermographic material is provided comprising an anti-irradiation pigment incorporated in a photosensitive layer and an anti-irradiation dye incorporated in at least one light-insensitive layer on the same side of a support as the photosensitive layer.

    • A color diffusion transfer photographic element is disclosed. The element provides a transferred dye image in a mordant layer and includes a compound having recurrent units represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## the substituents within the general formula (I) are defined within the specification. By utilizing the compound the images produced having improved preservability having specific improvements with respect to the elimination of yellow stains which are formed in white areas of the images after storage for a long period of time. Furthermore, the images formed do not deteriorate at high temperatures and the use of the compound does not decrease the D.sub.max in print images.

    • Provided is a method for producing image using a photothermographic material in which the photothermographic material is exposed with a laser light using an image producing apparatus having a recording section and heat developing section, and then developed by heating, the photothermographic material containing elsewhere at least on one plane of the a support at least one kind of photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ion and a binder; characterized in that the photosensitive silver halide contains an iridium compound, and the image producing apparatus has an exposure corrective control means for correctively controlling exposure output according to a temperature profile of photothermographic material within the apparatus. This method can provide an image with a stable quality while not being affected by environmental conditions during the image production.
