    • A planetary gear has two axially adjacent ring gears (11, 12), several planet wheels (10) mounted inside a planet carrier (2) so as to rotate and a central sun wheel (1). Between two planet wheels (10) is provided each time an intermediate shaft (6) and each shaft has two sets of teeth (7, 8), the smaller set of teeth (8) being provided for simultaneous engagement with two adjacent planet wheels (10) between which the intermediate shaft (6) is situated, and the second set of teeth (7), the reference circle of which is larger than that of the first one, engages with the central sun wheel (1).

    • The driver in a three-speed bicycle hub may be coupled alternatively with the planet carrier or the ring gear of the planetary gear transmission in the hub shell by means of radial arms on a coupling sleeve which is shifted axially between terminal positions of engagement with the carrier and the ring gear respectively for highest and intermediate transmission ratio. The engaged ring gear may further be shifted axially by the coupling sleeve from its normal position against the restraint of a spring to establish a third, lower transmission ratio. The coupling elements of the planet carrier and ring gear are normally closer to each other than the axial length of the coupling sleeve arms. The radial arms cammingly cooperate with coupling elements on the planet carrier and/or the ring gear to shift the arms automatically into a terminal position from any intermediate position in response to relative rotation of the associated transmission members.

    • An improved motor vehicle roof is provided which includes a roof opening provided in a fixed roof surface, at least one closing element for selectively at least partially closing the roof opening, an electrical adjusting drive for driving the closing element and a sensor engineering system for detecting a situation which adversely affects the safety of the passengers and for producing a corresponding danger signal. Importantly, the roof includes a quick-action closing device coupled to the sensor engineering system which causes the closing element to close from its open or partially open position when a danger signal is present. The closing device includes means for producing an electrical voltage which exceeds the normal feed voltage (rated voltage) of the adjusting drive by several times, and for applying the voltage to the electric adjusting drive.

    • The planetary gear according to the invention comprises a sun gear (2) connected to a driven central shaft (20), a ring gear (12), a group of first stepped planetary gears (8, 10) and a group of second stepped planetary gears (4, 6). The large step wheels (4) of the second stepped planetary gears engage the sun gear (2), the small step wheels (6) of the second stepped planetary gears simultaneously engage a pair of adjoining large step wheels (8) of the first stepped planetary gears and all small step wheels (10) of the first stepped planetary gears engage the ring gear (12). The gear allows for high transmission ratios having a small size and low inertia moment and offers excellent properties in relation to efficiency and transmission reliability.
