    • An information processing system that is configured in such a manner that computational processing is performed on input data in accordance with a processing sequence, for outputting data, comprises: a plurality of arithmetic units (7-1 to 7-x), each computing at an arithmetic precision 2m bits (where m is a natural number) based on the processing sequence; and a plurality of cascade connection terminals for cascading these arithmetic units each other. When the maximum arithmetic precision that is required during computational processing is 2n bits (where n is a natural number and is fixed), x numbers of (where x is a natural number) the arithmetic units are cascaded in a manner such that the inequality x≧2n/2m is satisfied. When an arithmetic precision of 2n1 bits (where n1≦n, and n1 is variable) is necessary during computational processing, x1 numbers of the arithmetic units are cascaded in a manner such that the inequality x1≧2n1/2m (where x1 is a natural number and is variable) is satisfied. This makes it possible to easily implement an information processing system for performing computations to any desired precision in a hardware manner, and also makes it possible to support a simple hardware-based method of expanding the arithmetic precision.

    • A washing apparatus of a screw for extruder including a casing, support rollers installed in the casing so as to support a screw rotatably, a drive motor for rotating the screw, a water jet assembly having a nozzle and nozzle rotation section, a nozzle inclination motor to incline the water jet assembly relative to the axis direction of the screw. A nozzle hole of the water jet assembly is inclined to face one way relative to the axis of the screw placed on support roller assemblies. The nozzle is rotated eccentrically about the nozzle hole and moved from one end to the other of the screw, changing the nozzle hole direction to the other way relative to the screw at the other end of the screw. The screw is rotated so that an unwashed part of the screw faces the nozzle and is washed. This cycle is repeated until the entire surface of the screw is rotated.

    • A fluid pressure device usable in a vehicle brake system which includes a dual master cylinder inserted into two mutually independent fluid lines which are connected between the front and rear wheel brakes. The device is arranged across the fluid lines between the brake master cylinder and the rear wheel brakes and includes a pair of differential pistons slidably accommodated in a cylinder bore and a balance piston slidable in the bore between the differential pistons, a pair of input fluid chambers being defined between the balance piston and the differential pistons and connected with respective upstream portions of the fluid lines while a pair of output fluid chambers are defined on the outer sides of the differential pistons and connected with the adjacent input fluid chambers through fluid control valves and with respective downstream portions of the fluid lines. The differential pistons are operated under differential pressures exerted upon opposite ends thereof to reduce the fluid pressure at the rear wheel brakes at a definite ratio relative to that at the front wheel brakes so that an improved overall braking efficiency is obtained. The balance piston is normally held in a neutral position and is moved away therefrom, in case of a fluid leakage present in either of the fluid lines, to energize an external alarm, thereby warning the operator of such failure.
