摘要： Disclosed is an automatic thread cutting device for a sewing machine which is provided with a horizontal loop taker, wherein a thread catching member 4 is operated in response to a thread cutting instruction to reciprocatingly move with a movable blade 5 along a predetermined course, the thread catching member 4 normally catching the upper thread when moving in the return-way of reciprocation to guide the upper thread to a fixed blade 14 which is provided to cut the upper thread in cooperation with the movable blade 5, and wherein a thread regulating means is provided to cut the lower thread 29d together with the upper thread, the thread regulating means being operated to press down the lower thread 29d to a position where the lower thread 29d is caught by the thread catching member 4 in addition to the upper thread when the thread catching member 4 is moving in the return-way of reciprocation.

An auxiliary thread take-up lever is arranged in the upper thread running path between the main thread take-up lever and a needle holding the upper thread. A thread engaging part guides the upper thread. A thread presser is arranged laterally of the upper thread running path between the main and auxiliary thread take-up levers and normally clamps the upper thread. A detector detects a predetermined rotation phase of a drive shaft of the machine and thread elongation, respectively, and generates respective electric signals. A control circuit causes the thread presser to release the upper thread in response to the electric signals generated by the detector.

Thus, the beak rotates relative to the cylindrical member in response to a change in the position of the needle during rotation of the cylindrical member.

This arrangement comprises a control cam and a rotatable shaft, the control cam being slidably axially mounted on the rotatable shaft but not turnable with respect to the shaft. The thread tightening device also includes an element arranged for vertical reciprocating movement in a timed relation with the feed dog, which element engages a lower thread during the stitching operation of the sewing machine. A thread tension adjusting device is provided in the machine, which comprises an adjusting cam operatively connected to the pattern cams and a linkage arrangement which is operatively connected to the adjusting cam and to the control cam to displace the control cam in the axial direction in response to a set position of the adjusting cam to thereby adjusting lower thread tension in accordance with the respective pattern cam.

摘要： An embroidering position setting device and method of operation thereof for an embroidering sewing machine are described. The embroidering sewing machine is capable of storing pattern data in a memory for a plurality of embroidery patterns which can be selectively read out to operate a stitch forming device to form the stitches of a selected pattern or patterns on a cloth to be stitched. An embroidering frame has a cloth extended thereon to be embroidered and is connected to an X-Y drive mechanism, said cloth having a mark located at an optional position for representing a reference embroidering position of the cloth. Jog keys are selectively operated to operate said X-Y drive mechanism thereby to shift said embroidering frame so that said reference embroidering position mark of the cloth may be located at the position under said machine needle in vertical alignment therewith. The position register key is operated to store said position of the reference embroidering position mark in an embroidering position memory as the reference embroidering position data. This position of the reference embroidering position mark is indicated together with crossed lines on a display which is operative in response to operation of said position register key. A pattern selecting device is then operated to select at least one of the embroidery patterns from said pattern memory, said selected embroidery pattern being stored in a memory (RAM) and being simultaneously indicated on said display with the center thereof being located at the center of said crossed lines.

摘要： An upper thread carried by a vertically reciprocating needle is drawn from a bobbin through a tensioning device, a supply device and a take-up lever. A predetermined amount of the upper thread is first supplied by actuating the supply device, while applying no tension thereto. An additional amount of the upper thread is then supplied by operation of the take-up lever with a predetermined tension being given thereto. The additional amount is detected by a sensor. The supply device includes a one-way clutch for allowing the upper thread to travel in a predetermined direction which, however, may not be conveyed from the needle side when the supply device is made operative. A CPU controls the amount of thread first supplied by the supply device which will always be smaller than an amount actually required for producing a stitch, resulting in an additional amount to be supplied supplemental in cooperation with the tensioning device.
