    • A process is disclosed wherein tungsten is recovered from hazardous waste material containing said tungsten, arsenic, and other impurities which can consist of magnesium, phosphorus, and silicon and the resulting waste is treated to render it nonhazardous according to EPA standards for arsenic. Said process involves digesting said hazardous waste material in an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide, adjusting the pH of the resulting solution to about 11.0 to about 13.0 with NaOH to precipitate essentially all of the magnesium and silicon species, filtering the digestion mix to remove the solids from said resulting solution which contains about 80 to about 100% of said tungsten and essentially none of said magnesium and said silicon, slurrying the hazardous solids in hot water, and adding to the slurry a ferric salt solution to precipitate ferric hydroxide, filtering this mixture to give a solid which passes the EPA standard test for solids with respect to arsenic.

    • A session transfer module of a session server provides the capability to a user to direct a transfer of an on-going session from one device to another device while maintaining the session. The session transfer module is invoked by a user in a way consistent with the user interface of the client application, including by a graphical user command, a command line prompt, or a voice command. The client provides a selection of possible devices that may receive the redirected session. The session transfer module receives the selected device with the session redirect command over a communication network. The communication network may be wired (e.g., public switched telephone network (“PSTN”), Internet, etc.,) a wireless network (e.g., digital telephone network, pager network, etc.,) or a combination of the wired and wireless networks. The session transfer module may be configured to discontinue the session with the current device and to block any subsequent messages of the transferring session from reaching the device. The session transfer module may be further configured to access a device profile from a device profile database to convert the blocked messages into a format compatible to the format and/or modality of the redirected device. The session transfer module may be further configured to push the session to the redirected device in response to an activation (e.g., log-on) of the redirected device by the user. Alternatively, the session transfer module may be further configured to push the session back to the device in response to a time-out in the activation of the redirected device.

    • The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for monitoring signalized traffic flow. A processor in a sensor system or traffic controller interface estimates the time-of-arrival and other traffic flow estimates of one or more vehicles to an intersection stop bar, while the vehicles are within a continuous range of one or more transducers view of the sensor system. A level of efficiency and safety within the signalized traffic flow is estimated by the sensor system based upon one or more of the estimated time-of-arrival and other flow variables estimates and then communicated to the control unit of the traffic signal system. Other flow estimates for each vehicle include but are not limited to: position relative to the stop bar, lane position, velocity, acceleration, time headway and classification.

    • An engine system for a combustion engine that has an intake manifold and an exhaust manifold has a turbine having a turbine inlet for receiving exhaust gas and a turbine outlet for discharging exhaust gas, and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) having a DPF inlet in flow-communication with the exhaust manifold and a DPF outlet in flow-communication with the turbine inlet. The exhaust at the exhaust manifold has a sufficiently high temperature to maintain passive regeneration of the DPF during normal operating conditions. If the engine system includes an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, the EGR inlet is in flow-communication with the DPF outlet, and an EGR outlet is in flow-communication with the intake manifold. High pressure, high temperature, filtered EGR gas is available for EGR recirculation.

    • A content matching engine (CME) uses a content addressable memory (CAM) array that stores a plurality of strings in separate entries. The strings define one or more rules to be matched. The strings of each rule are linked, thereby providing a required order. The strings of each rule can be linked by per-entry counters associated with each string, or by a state machine. The strings in the CAM array are compared with a packet, which is shifted one symbol at a time (because the strings can start on any boundary). When the CAM detects a match, the CAM skips over the string that resulted in the match, thereby preventing erroneous matches. The CAM allows parallel matching to be performed for multiple rules. If the contents of a packet match all of the strings of a rule, in order, then the CME asserts a match/index signal that identifies the matched rule.

    • A hardware hashing circuit is configured to perform a hashing function on a received character string, thereby creating a hashed output value and a collision resolution value. A content addressable memory (CAM) receives the hashed output value, and in response, provides an index value and activates a hit signal if the hashed output value matches an entry of the CAM. A random access memory (RAM) receives the index value from the CAM. The RAM stores a collision resolution value and information associated with the character string in an entry associated with the index value. The RAM provides this information and collision resolution value in response to the index value. Logic circuitry indicates a collision if the hit signal is activated and the collision resolution value provided by the hardware hashing circuit does not match the collision resolution value provided by the RAM.
